Hey Justin! There is a difference between the in-game T72M1 model and the T72A model. It's hard to spot at a glance but the turret armor in the x-ray is inferior on the T72M1 in terms of total coverage. It has less vertical coverage than what the T72A has. What this means is that the turret crew's heads are much more vulnerable.

Fun fact: On T-72s and other late Soviet tanks, the turret ring is slanted forward. EDIT: In WT, that means they have more gun depression than the stat card says when aiming forward, and less when aiming backwards.

@@ivanshishkov4473 The effect of the slanted turret ring is accurately modeled in WT. From my measurements, T-72B can depress about 7.5 degrees when aiming forward, but only about 3 degrees when aiming backwards.

An interesting soviet cold war tanks are "Delta-D", where you lase an enemy tank while it are aproaching you and the FCS calculate the distance diminish and apply it on the cannon elevation. The T-72M1 had it.

The t-72 M1 wasn’t an export at the same time as the t-72a, the t-72m was. T-72m1 was during t-72b production

I think the composite layout in the turret is also different.

The T-72M1 also has 5mm more composite on hull front.

With the console XM-1 you can pull it up in game with the war thunder wiki. Not much else you can do besides test drive it but. Great video though

It almost feels like the devs are favoring the Swedish at this point lmao. I just wish they focus on the game modes more instead of vehicles at this point. I play war thunder to play tank v tank specifically because world of tanks isn't as fun (much less on consoles) but 70% of my deaths are by aircraft. I hope someday they add a separate game mode where it's only ground vehicles. At least they're reworking World War mode

Pointing out at 0:57 that he mentions "swedish get one".. yeah.. it's in the Swedish tech tree, but still, it's Finnish. looking at the up left corner, you can see a Finnish flag there. Just pointing out. I kinda wished that Finland had it's own tech tree. Not to mention that Israel got it's own.

Thats why i played Sweden, I was wating for these tanks.

In RL the t72 laser rangefinder tells the distance but you need to put it manually in the gun ! lol

in RL the Laser rangefinder isnt even centerd to the middle of the sight and most modern tanks have aleast some fire controll system now a days you dont see this in WT

The T72M1 has a Hunter killer system, the gun distance adjusts on the move, and the Gun follows the sight like in modern tanks. Only big downside is that most of these systems do not work with the night vision sight, even the laser range finder.

Agree, at first the T-72A is fine where it is. It does have horrible vertical and reverse speed (4°/s and 4.5kmh) the gun is enough 3bm22 does lack the post pen but enough. But it basicly good at where it at, 9.3 or lower, beyond that this is quite shit 9.7 premium stuff tear you like a butter

now a great time to really put russian bias to the test? does the swedish T-72 get the spall protection and ammo not detonating like with the russian MBT's

Huh, tbh 9.3 Sweden is my most played BR atm, but that's probably because I love the CV9040s and the 9040b doesn't see KA-50/52 spam so ends up being my favourite

they hit a lot harder than the NATO counterparts, partly due to the 125mm gun compared to 120, also there's comparatively more explosive - to - weight in the shell compared to the NATO 120's. The russian HE''s just objectively perform better.

East germany never had T-80S in their army it was Soviet Army in East german that had T-64 and T80s like example 1st Soviet tank guard army or Shock army

Would love to see a German t-72. Would be even funnier when it’s only slightly different and at a lower battle rating like a lot of other German stuff.

it would be nice if it would be impossible to lose any Silver Lions, its a bit depressing to see that you lose lions for trying to play the game, for trying to respawn and do something, to try to win a bad round ... its quite often to see players just leave the game when shit hits the fan and i bet its because they dont want to lose any more lions ... imagine that you wouldnt be able to lose anything, i personally wouldnt leave any game, just kept respawning until i have nothing left, because why not? ... but now i just prefer also to gtfo or even alt+f4 because i cant stand this shit ... i would rather to see ZERO earnings, but not below it ... (also if someone doesnt know, the first screen after battle doesnt show you the full earnings, you have to click the orange icon at the right bottom corner in the menu and there you can see how much did you really earned ...)

I find it hillarious how finland managed to get more out of the T-72 than the russians ever did... Still glad that we changed for the leopards but i fucking hate it how the protection levels are inaccurate in-game. I get it as to why it is(og manufacturer notes etc.) the way it is, but the way the mods basically insult us who for 100% know the protection capabilities of the 2A4 just makes me lash out towards them more and be toxic, which i hate, since they basically arent allowed to have a kind of a bottom to top kind of suggestion mechanic and makes it feel like GJ knows more than you do, which in extremelly often, is not the case and the reasons we get are vague at best

@@Orcawhale1 i guess that all the historical context i was told during my training for my time as the last primary group for the 2A4 was finnish military propaganda , unless you yourself was deployed for the parola tank division and depending on the trainers, one might have a different experience. They didnt at all lie about the disadvantages of eastern style designs but tactically and strategically, which is the talking point here, finland realized the limitations better than soviets or russians managed.. tactically and strategically, what is the difference maker

@@larikauranen2159 speaking of strategy and tactics T-series is more fit for the Eastern block in general. Especially starting with t-72b and upwards where they fixed the ammo storage issue (life and game r different since we r talking life yeah). Leopard is a defensive unit while 72s and 64s are more of an offensive ones. Especially with Leopards not having HE (especially right at the start, I know that modern ones do have it). Also, how come Finland got more out of t-72s? No sarcasm, just curious.

The environment apperantly, alongside heavy focus on armored infantry provided better tactical utility in an counter offensive. The purchase of the cv90, patria amv, leopard 2A4's and later 2A6/mlrs and better SPG's enhanced these attributes for the defence forces

Iirc if game prices were to follow inflation, what used to be 60€ games should be above 100€. Basically the past idk 20 years that the 60€ price has been the standard, games have been making less and less per sale. Personally I'd be fine with paying the actual rate for games if the employees were being paid more and crunch wasn't such an industrial standard.

Ive basically played WT ever since the ground forces were added, and i dont remember germany having an east german T-55. Maybe the snail tested it somewhere in the alpha and beta but atleast live germany has never had any russian MBT's in their line ups
