Exploring Zhangjiajie: China’s mystical land of Avatar

Zhangjiajie in northwest China inspired the bewitching landscapes of James Cameron’s science-fiction blockbuster Avatar. Join Min-Zhui Lee as she discovers the UNESCO-listed scenic areas of Wulingyuan, venturing underground through caves, down a magical lake in the mountains and then high up to precipitous rock formations and across the world’s longest and highest glass bridge.

Unfortunately no photo, or video does this magical place justice. We went there in December, although it was cold, we fell in love. Never have I seen such a beautiful place, ever & we travel a lot! These forests are breathtaking and peaceful. The people of Zhangjiaji are so kind, I loved it. The glass bridge is terrifying, but for those not afraid of heights will find it thrilling. The ride up to top of the forest in the cable car is amazing and scenic. You must see this once in your life. The glass elevator is also terrifying but the views are amazing. One of our favorite places in China

China is such a beautiful country! With a lot of beautiful cities and parks and nature all around, and I'm so glad that China has fast GSM and LTE and WiFi just about everywhere, from what I've heard and read, the data transition in Europe and Asia, and in China is more advanced and faster than in the USA. I would like to visit China, and i see their are good people with good hearts in China that love cats and dogs and baby puppies and kitten's. Besides their are lots of banks in China as well where it would be formidable to invest some money and get around China, using money or a credit card, or even a smartphone with NFC and Bluetooth in order to pay for anything!

Was in Zhangjiajie in May 2018. Saw the peaks, nature towers shown in this video doc. Walked across the glass bridge. At the end of the side, there are step passage down all the way to the bottom of the canyon, follow by amazing trials along creeks and waterfalls. Took 45 min to reach the lake for boat ride to the transport hub. Dazzling, breathtaking and invigorating. Must visit. !!!!

Thank you for this great presentation. Glad it was you and not us, going to visit Zhangjiajie in winter, we saw this area once in autumn - the autumn color display was amazing and the clear far sight so impressive. As we hiked along those walks (there are 60 km of walk-ways), we did not even feel any cold. We went again during summer and saw what you missed, the musical presentations of folklore everywhere & artistic parts like the Charming Xiangxi at the Wulingyuan Theater or the Fox Fairy Show beneath the Tianmen Mountain. The glass bridge was back then still not existent, but the glass bath was. The Flying Fox from the top of Heaven's Gate was short lived due to being to risky as accidents happened.

we went twice to see Zhangjiajie - unforgetable ! You should have befriended / hired a registered local tour guide, we did not have to wait in line and had the best time ever. You went up to Baofong Lake we asume?....the scenery, the locals, the food, the music - one has to go there and experiance it all - mesmarising !!
