Exploring this lonely abandoned brick farmhouse. Explore #66
Ontario, Canada
This lonely abandoned brick house looked smaller than is was. Once inside it was a lot bigger than I thought. I was on my way to another location when I happened to drive by this one so I had to take a closer look. Looking at the design and area this house is located in I'm thinking it was built in the early 1900's or earlier. There was a lot of items left behind here including a cool world map on the living room wall. Abandoned approx. 5 years as I seen old news papers and documents dated 2016 I am thinking that's when this house was abandoned.

About me:
I have been exploring abandoned places since I was a child and now I would like to film the explores and share the videos with you.
My father took me to my first abandoned house when I was 7 years old. I remember going into the house and a old farmer came in and told us "we better watch out as the floors are all rotten and unsafe". Ever since that day I was hooked on exploring abandoned places.
If you have a location you would like to share with me or want me to explore for you please send me an email at abandonedurbexcanada@hotmail.com and I will give you full credit for the share in the description and during the video if you choose.

I use bottles like that to store essential oils. If you keep fragrance (liquid) in an amber, glass container. Out of sunlight. It can last for many years.

Someone put a lot of tender love and care into this house. So sad to see it just waste away with the leaks. So many would be beyond grateful and would work hard to bring it back to good shape if given the home. It's senseless to just let it rot away.

It's possible that rod high on the wall was for a quilt or other big wall hanging. Some people add loops to their quilts so they can hang them to show them off.

    1) These old rural properties are often sold to developers, who leave things alone until it's time to clear the land and start building a subdivision on it. 2) It costs a lot to rent a disposal bin (or 2 or 3) to fill with the contents of a house, and you have to pay by weight to have it taken to a dump. It's much cheaper and easier to just leave everything to be demolished with the house and hauled away with the rubble, at the developer's expense.

My Dad was a heart patient & he'd have his annual checkup in that vicinity. We stayed at a cool hotel called the Horseshoe Inn every trip. This was interesting and it seemed like it was a solid little brick house. Those bottles maybe were essential oil bottles or someone using 'poppers' just a guess. Anyway, had a good laugh at the Jim Carey insert LOL!!! Drone work just soooo GOOD!! Thank you for another excellent explore!!🏠🏠🏠

From the style of the fireplaces and the transoms over the doors, wide plank floors and ceiling, I would guess early 1800's for the original part of the house.

@@AbandonedUrbexCanada I think Dale is right; probably removed when the kitchen was updated, & they sealed off the access. Guessing the front room served as an entry/dining space. Did you notice that there was a void in the living room behind that built-in bookcase? The bottom looked like a step -- possibly the original staircase behind it? And those little brown bottles put me in mind of some kind of product you could package & sell via an MLM organization. With a little work, this could be a really lovely starter home for a family.

@@lgblgb7489 The shelf in the living room had bead board on the back, so I'm thinking it is as old as the house. The void space behind it would be where the basement stairs are. There is nowhere upstairs for another staircase opening. I think it's just enclosing the top of the basement steps, but why they didn't just use a wall is kind of baffling. I did wonder if at some point it was some type of dumb waiter they could load things from the basement on.

Yay ! Finally back Brent 😁 Interesting place with all those little doors around. The wood floors are beautiful. Odd how the freezer had so much food in it. Thank you for not showing us the basement, I am always yelling nooo don't go in there 😵😊 Thanks for the explore, I will be waiting for the next one. 👍
