The "Timeless Residence" in central Tokyo, designed by APOLLO Architects & Associates, is a modern home built for a couple entering a new phase of life after their children left home. The house features a minimalist exterior with two stacked concrete volumes and limited outward-facing windows for privacy. Inside, two courtyards-one large with a bamboo grove and one smaller serving as a lightwell-create a seamless blend of indoor and outdoor spaces. The design prioritizes flexible living areas, allowing residents to move freely throughout the house, reflecting a post-covid trend towards homes that foster meaningful quality time and adaptability.
