Malaysia's Extraordinary House Transformation|Denai Sepuloh|Architecture|House Tour

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Happy New Year~
Welcome to DESIGN SEED!
Design Seed has now travelled to the southern region to explore more astounding contents to boost our channel’s content for your viewing pleasure.
The Denai Sepuloh is a modern contemporary home that doesn’t stray away from its functions of the generic Malay house.
Looking at how the family members live their life’s within the premises, you can find the resemblance of the malay house culture built in modernization.
The principal entrance to the property is via a stair from the carporch to what the plan refers to as the lobby or in razin’s words the Anjung and serambi.
The beauty of the architecture is how its simplicity creates such great impact. With a basic form of construction converging with steel structures and implementation of solid wood louvers bolted to the basic shell of the building, this coherent composition has created an influential character and identity for the architecture facade.

"Sometimes it's quite sad when people come to me and they prescribe what they want. I hope someday people will listen to their designers as well, because we spend time to learn in school about design. We don't just do design, we are problem solvers."-- best quote ever for designers and architect. Great content!! Simple design, on point and nothing pretentious.

And they wonder "WHY" their house and landscape design is not accordingly with their imagination or more typically that certain resort that they want it to be. Like "Hello, bodoh! It's because you get yourself into the design la why it is like that!" You don't understand the aesthetic nor the functionality of a design, yet have the audacity to interrupt, worst, try to "teach" the pros in what they are expertise themselves in??? No wonder the finale design is crap once built. I've once heard a makcik that requested a Balinese style villa to an architect, yet were so destructively participating along the process. Thus, last but not least, the finale design is typical Malaysian square-box, cookie-cutter, bungalow, with a tad of Bali landscape. So, bangang. Yet have the audacity to say that the designer "tak pandai design!" It was so heartbreaking that the designer showed me the early design, it was truly true to the traditional architecture of a Bali palace (puri). The buildings are separated accordingly with Balinese culture. It was organic, majestic and unique yet, so private and homely feels to it. Respect your designer and give them some space to brief, good Lord!

I was going to comment the same thing. Best house featured so far. For me, architecture is the study of a land's location and considering its exposure to the elements. By studying that, any structure built on that land can better withstand and/or harness these elements. This house showcased that with a great architectural design.

The traditional Malay house and our "Bahay Kubo" which is the traditional house here in the Philippines almost looks the same. And I really love how the features of the traditional Malay house were incorporated into modern design. I wish Philippines gets influenced by residential designs like this where sustainability matters more because most residential designs here rely to much on air conditioning even though cross ventilation is possible. I love this episode! 🤍 I'm learning so much in this channel. Hoping for more :)

Filipinos are Malays too as well as many in Asian region. We share a few common similarities in words, architecture, foods, etc. I wished Singapore is as big as Malaysia or half the size of Malaysia so that most of us can afford to live in landed properties and, build our own house or design. I love how the above house is divided into different areas. Just as in Balinese and Thai houses where there are separations for a kitchen, bedroom, living area and bathrooms.

Such powerful and timeless design in simplicity embodies form and function. Extremely liveable and with maximum privacy in mind. This is my favourite thus far. I've always been a fan of courtyards and wooden louvers and this is an example of beautiful execution of these features. I wish I could afford to hire them when I get to build my house in the Philippines. 😁 Lately, I'm more drawn to modern Malaysian houses, the architects are mindful not just on aesthetic features but with practical functionality in mind plus integrating features of traditional houses. Here in the Philippines, most modern houses are more focused on having more and bigger rooms. There's not much emphasis on ease of movement, ventilation, climate, and having green spaces around.

An Architect's dream home for an engineer to make it came true. Certainly could sense nature being so far yet so close. A home neatly framed with open interiors, high ceilings and living hall with wide beams thus column free and spacious. Indeed an harmonious balance between the unassuming tropical weather outside by way of enclosing with tall rustic slim doors lourves and glass infil panels. Perhaps even the large canopy roof is to cast shade over the garden landscape, the water features and the pool timber deck patio below. Deserves all the joy and pride of living in an amazing home.

The Planter Box house was the first house I watched from this channel, and it was instantly a favorite. I initially had two faves from this channel, and this is the third one!

This is by far the best featured house o. Love the open spaced design and nature incorporated in the design. My favourite design!! Very refreshing to see versus the standard luxe designs.
