I have been meaning to ask you which back route is this one through the Kamulu hills? where does it start from the meeting point? I would love to drive via it....there is little many of us know of this area

Hi Kaburu, there are actually a number of little-known tracks in the area to explore. So the one we used from Kamulu, took us straight to Kangundo (its tarmac). Then as you approach Kangundo town, take the left (C98) at the junction (going straight will lead you to Machakos). The road passes through the market area and shortly after, the tarmac ends and a murram road that has nice bends and curves begins. Drive carefully since it's narrow, and there is oncoming traffic. As you proceed, about 10-12kms, the C98 takes a sharp right, and you will see a narrow track straight ahead. Take the narrow track and be amazed at the views as you drop down the hills. If you are unsure, ask anyone to point you to Miu ABC Primary School as it is along this track. Proceed until you exit just north of Mwala town.

@@AlbertotheExplorer254 Many thanks brother. Much appreciated. There is need to travel the untravelled routes in this country. Tarmac is a bit overrated at times.
