Exploring the Lava Caves of Lava Beds N.M.
After getting our AT Camper installed on the Ram 3500 in Bend, Oregon, we make a stop at Lava Beds National Monument on the way back to the Bay Area. Lava Beds features over 800 lava tubes (caves), including the 18 which you can visit along Cave Loop. The intricate maze of lava tubes ranges in size from the size of a studio apartment, to giant-sized caves large enough to drive a truck through.
If you've never visited, Lava Beds NM and the surrounding Modoc National Forest is definitely worth a visit!
