JavaScript should generally be disabled on Tor if you don't want to easily get hacked. I rarely ever turn it on. Most sites will work just fine with it off. JavaScript is easy to implement hacks into, so to keep it off.

The garbage ones look like a tor vanity generator. In order to get a tor website that resembles a word or something that is similar to the subject of the page. A script runs and creates a huge number of tor urls while picking out what you requested

doesn't necessarily have to be the case, although a vanity generator creates the addresses, it does not advertise all of them to the tor network, as that would be highly inefficient while trying to find a matching address. the generation is strictly mathematical and does not need internet/network access to be performed.

Combo list are not to be looked at they are meant to be put in another tool for cracking for instance open bullet silver bullet and there are many others out there

I suggest using a virtual machine for browsing those sites. If you get a virus on a virtual machine just delete the machine and create a new one. Also if you have some of those pictures in your cache the police /feds will find them so its super clean to prevent that with a virtual machine.

Some malware can get past the Virtual Machine and infect the main system. So using Virtual Machines is not always the greatest option. Buy a burner laptop and use that instead

If this serves as a search engine for the dark web, the Hidden Wiki is a web catalog like 90's Yahoo, except that everyone can add their dubious links to it. Otherwise you only get to know sites through personal recommendations (like there were best-of books for the first decade of the web) and stumbling upon them on clearnet sites (for example less reputable sites posting their onion address in case their domain gets taken down). And of course there are still hyperlinks around the dark web.
