Really happy Fender picked this dude up. There's years worth of footage where this dude is throwing down on Gibson's, but they're too busy trying to get artists like Gene Simmons and Dave Mustaine on board to even consider Dr. Fish. Expert move Fender. This looks and sounds great.

Yeah, he even mentioned Gary Moore and his LP. This should have been automatic to sign him. Gibson is making some effort to bring on younger players, or those that play to younger fans but i see the majority of them getting Epi signature models. I still love Gibson though

@@RByrne Yep but they've been sloppy those past few years, whether in terms of quality control or artists retention and acquisition. Fender is really on the edge with the new models, they've been releasing their first originals in years and this is IMHO their best of the last decade easily.

@@RByrne Even if they just picked two or three guys, it'd work. They made a good move getting Mark Morton on board, but Lamb of God (while still kicking ass) just doesn't have the attention that other artists do.

@@RByrne Honestly, I forgot about Lzzy Hale. I gotta commend them on picking her up though, she's a perfect blend of what Gibson needs.

I love Kingfish's playing, and the fact he chose a purple tele makes me like him even more, since my favorite guitar is a purple 50s tele. Congrats, Kingfish!

Saw Kingfish live in Edinburgh recently and he was absolutely phenomenal, one of the best gigs I have ever been to. Was lucky enough to meet him afterwards and have a quick chat and a photo with him, he is such a cool guy and was very gracious. So happy for him, he deserves it!

Tele Deluxe is my favorite Fender design. The Troublemaker/LP style bridge is cool. And a bullet style oversized 70s headstock. Lots of great design choices on this one.

3:59 I find it kinda funny how hard he is trying to say a 50s les paul tone and just slightly nudges at it saying humbucker from 50s and "lp" lol, reminds me of when Gibson tried describing their coil split les paul tones by calling it "classic quack out of phase tone " instead of strat tone

CONGRATULATIONS, KINGFISH!!!! MUCH DESERVED!!! Hopefully this will get more of the younger generation into the history of the blues. Kingfish's love for Prince goes well beyond the color he chose for his signature guitar. If you haven't seen the cover of "Purple Rain" he performed live at a blues festival not long after Prince died, check it out on KZread. I nearly WEPT because he put all his pain into THAT performance!!!
