EXPLORING THE HAMILTON STEAM MUSEUM AND OLD BARTON RESERVOIR....BUILT IN 1859!

Well this video is a bit different than my usual but I am really interested in mechanics and machinery, and the Hamilton Museum of Steam and Technology is a great place to see some historical innovation! Very interesting to see how they got things done in the 1800's...There are two massive steam engines in one pumping station built in 1859. It is an amazing feeling to walk among these huge forged steel parts that were turning for 50 years in order to produce a clean municipal water supply for the citizens of Hamilton. Once I saw the pumping station I just had to see where the remains of the reservoir were located and what was left of it. I hope you enjoy this video and find it interesting! Thanks for watching!!

Thanks! This makes 2023 look shabby and cobbled together...no grace or dignity. Great!

That was fascinating. I had no idea it was even there. The stone floor of the reservoir is incredible with all the work that went into building it. Great video.

I was there a month ago in early October. It's hard to describe it to someone and has to be seen. Thanks for the reservoir tour as we drive past it to have a peek but did not walk up to it. Great video!
