The Naruto run from your son was awesome 😂 That takes me back! 😁
I love this style of review. I like seeing where someone like me throws something. I can get the MA1 flight but often use it more like the ma2/3 power for tunnels.

Thanks! We try to get a wide range of styles, skill levels, etc.
Best format for disc review I’ve seen. Well done.
Max killed me when he started running with the disc LMAOOOO

He said to get out of the shot so we could see the flight😂😂😂
I really like how you compared different age/skill levels. Keep it up! KZread reviews often throw way harder/further then I ever will, so the flight characteristics for me will be much different.
SSD hitting us with all of the good content lately! Huge fan of the formats y'all are putting out!

Thanks Nathan, we'll keep delivering if you all are still watching!
Great video! Love the concept of “flight numbers” at different arm speeds
More videos like this! I love seeing how a disc flies at different skill levels!
You’ve motivated me to pick up an ESP Heat. Looking forward to trying it.
More of these PLEASE
I just got one a month or so ago and love it. Ive made some of my best drives ever with it.
Really amazing work here! I think that for distance drivers (at least) it would be interesting to see the distances each of these are flying for the different levels.
Lot of personality in this one - love it!

Trying to find a nice balance of fun and informative. Glad you liked it!
I had a Z Heat. It was nice but I wasn't a big fan of the plastic. A little too stiff for me. I gave it to a buddy. He loves it.
Sorry to hear about your elbow pain. I’ve been trying to throw offhanded more so I wear out my elbows half as fast. 😂
This is a killer format for disc review! I throw the Heat for my max distance turnover shots and can get one to about 370. Love the feel in the hand. It's an effortless hyzer flip disc on forehands.

man of culture 🤙
I just picked up the recycled esp heat love the way it feels definitely understable
What a fantastic video! This presentation is outstandingly helpful; really hope there can be more like this in the future! I was just wondering about this and a few other Discraft discs I'm not familiar with. (which is a lot, I haven't looked at Discraft in at least 8 years. lol) Though this would be closer to a roller for me, this video really helps me understand the disc better so I can recommend it to my friends with slower arm speeds! That course looks amazing! Have always wished more courses with that level or character were in my area. GOOOOOAAAALLLLLLL!!!

Thank you! The course was great to play, amazing what Chris has put together, imagine having that in your backyard!
I like that you show the underside of the disc as well. And yes, the ESP Heat is in my bag.
do an explorer next! (or another 7|5|0|2 disc). I feel like that is one that flies very differently and has different uses depending on who is bagging it.

This would be the best probably "its a staple in everyones bag"... I have issues with the C-Line FD, Opto Explorer and such... Cant stand them :P That "reliable fade" makes for such a boring throw. I have one understable (Viking Discs Armor Cosmos) and one overstable disc (MVP Neutron Resistor) in my fairway drivers, will throw a mid or faster driver that cover that booring slot depending on the distance. ;D
I love the idea of reviews like this! I wonder if there’s benefit in talking about the distance that each of these levels are throwing when getting these flights? It still leaves the major component of spin generated out of the equation but it might help a 250’ or 400’ thrower understand what the disc will probably do for them a bit better.
I’m 50, with all kinds of pain going on all the time. Snagged a titanium Heat from my local shop, and I freaking love it. Flies straight for me on tunnel shots getting birdies on holes that I used to be happy to par. I throw mostly Mint discs, but the Heat and a Lone Star Harrier get thrown a whole lot. I love understable discs that I can depend on because it saves me from throwing my arm out.
Liking this format 👍👏👏
This is such a good idea for a series of videos, not sure if it is already
Very good video. Well presented. Btw, have you tried becoming left-handed? It's not that hard. For me, the main challenge was my release point, but I was surprised that, needing more concentration, my technique was actually getting me a bit more distance than with my regular right-armed throws. Now to learn to griplock less often! lol
This type of review is great.
The Heat is a great disc. I sometimes throw it further than my "distance drivers."
Still have my pro d heat it was one of my first discs and it shows haha
When I throw right the Heat is a nice upgrade from my buzz. It's not quite as forgiving when I throw wrong though. I am able to use it to get around dog legs to the left if I do it right which is hard to do with my Buzz. I'm still getting to know it but I think we'll be friends before long. ;)
1:14 if you want to get technical, it's not so surprising when you measure with a bit more precision: the Heat has a 19.5mm rim width (9.5speed) and the AvengerSS rim width that should have placed it in the 9speed category - I don't know why they're calling it a 10 - maybe they decided that less dome will require a bit more speed to throw (which is precisely why the Heat has more glide). But they're not wrong, because speed should be a minimum arm-speed requirement, not a distance predictor.
I bought a big z heat and for me it’s like a 9/5/0/1. I’m still recovering from a shoulder surgery and can only get about 250-275 feet of distance. On the other hand, I bought a DGA sail and it flies just like a heat should. Once my form gets better from taking a year off, hopefully I’ll be back in the 300+ feet range. 🤞
At age 65, my backhand calls Heat "home". Straight. If I had to play a round with only one disc, I would use a Heat. (My long shot favorite is a Lat64 Bolt)
Sorry for multiple comments but I love this format! Giving us different flight numbers for different skill levels! Please keep doing this! 😁🥏🥏🥏⛳

Comment all you want John! Thanks!
I bag a 175g ESP Heat as my flippy fairway/roller disc, and a 166g ESP FLX Heat that flies like 9 5 -2 2

Nice! I know a lot of people that like the Heat, the one Max and I threw was surprisingly overstable in Z Plastic, it definitely took some power before it turned.

@@SixSidedDiscsYeah any of the Z/Crystal varieties I’ve tried have been way more overstable than the ESP ones. Good to have a range to pick from though!
Your Kid was having a blast getting his disc ahaha
My first starter pack had an X Heat. It's definitely in the car when I'm not bagging one. If I need something slower, I throw a Big Z Sting or a really beat Z Zombee. If I want stability I reach for my Eagles. and Volts.
Still waiting for a Trogdor release. Burninate the fairway!
The heat is very flippy to me. I love it when I need to turn right on a hole, but further out than my beginner forehand can go. and I've also rolled it over 300 feet. the heat is my secondary driver, it is a great compliment to my Thunderbird.
I throw a lot of heat in my rounds. I started with a lightweight Xheat in my starter pack and when i realized the rim was unique I kinda turned my nose up at anything else. Ive learned to love all sorts of discs since then but, i have never fallen out of favor with the heat. Bag a pink Titanium one and its indestructible.
Distance of the throws would have been helpful. As well as comparing the same heat with the same plastic across all throwers.
Love the anime run lol
Great video, I agree with z plastic being more over stable than esp. When thrown forehand back to back on the same hole my esp heat will turn over to the left and just keep gliding on that line. My z heat wont turn over as hard and will fade out sooner
My heat is kind like my Fierce workable for all kinds of throws
I use a discmaina S line TDx
Flies like a Roadrunner. I get more distance out of the Roadrunner. Seems like discraft discs don't glide as well as other manufacturers. But they hold their characteristics longer.
for me the Z heat was my work horse flip up control driver but it could not stand up to headwinds, now I throw a Lucid Escape.

I wouldn’t trust it in a slight breeze haha makes sense
But shaking up, Content is good for comments!
Is the rim similar to the Scorch and the Crank SS? Almost a microbead and convex both on top as usual and on the bottom in Z/Big Z? (Looks like it but sometimes plastics change things up a little) Makes for smooth clean releases. Got me a Crank that I thought had that kind of rim AND a Crank SS that was what I were looking for! =) Also the Crank in Big Z were DARN stable for a T-2, F2

Yea the Scorch and Heat both have a very similar hand feel, the Scorch having a slightly wider rim.
I would put max at am2 😂
Tilt or Polecat plz.
Im an elbow dipper
Is there a disc that beats in to what the heat starts at?
@SixSidedDiscs
Жыл бұрын
Oh for sure! One way to figure that out would be to try and find a slightly less understable disc that can become as understable as the Heat. Assuming it flies like its flight numbers, a disc with 9/5/-2/1 numbers could beat-in to fly like a Heat, the Discmania Essence is close to that.
But, but, but,but....the Rule of 35 says I should be throwing 6 speed. Unless the Heat is under or close to 160 gms....it's not for my old slow arm, or is it?
It sux being in-between ma three and ma two. I beat every body pretty easy if I play ma Three and nobody plays in ma two and I'm like middle pack in ma one. Nine forty rated
Not worried about kids or wife throwing discs. I think you had a good thing going. Just stick with your original contact.
Don't agree with your 5 glide number. It's absolutely a true 6.
4:29 thank me later!
i was bagging both avenger ss and heat for a while. a couple weeks ago i lost my avenger ss. but i couldn't have cared less, the heat is just better. my heat is my fav disc i bag atm i think. i use it for just about everything. i use it for anhyzer shots and rollers. if i throw it on alot of hyzer it will flatten out and just sails straight forever it feels like.
