    It's a good video, but hopefully viewers understand these are the absolute best-planned, most-manicured spots in the city. San Jose is actually quite large in terms of total land area, and the vast majority of that is car-dependent suburbs and strip malls like you would find in most of the US. There is progress being made on building more multi-family housing, bike lanes, transit, etc., but it's incredibly slow in catching up with demand. Even the Rose Garden shown in this video is smack dab in the middle of car-dependent suburbia. The areas in this video are all crazy expensive, as well. It's not a bad city, there's lots to like about it, but just don't expect everywhere to be like Santana Row. Even living in a place like Santana Row or one of the many "luxury" apartment complexes near big tech campuses, people need cars to get to most places. Many such developments lack even a basic grocery store, light-rail stop, etc., and they tend to be quite small in the grand scheme of things. You can see everything Santana Row has to offer in a single day. It's not like San Francisco stacked full of interesting neighborhoods with shops and restaurants and such. If you want to live in quiet suburbs really close to high-paying tech jobs and are willing to pay lots of money for that privilege, San Jose is pretty much unmatched, but I wouldn't go there expecting the most vibrant city. Perhaps its best feature is its strategic position at the South end of the bay, which makes it incredibly convenient to go in any direction one would want to go for destinations throughout the Bay Area.

    Interesting take. Yes, not all of San Jose will look or feel like Santana Row, just like San Francisco or any other big city, but these videos are aimed for the tourist or visitors in mind who like to explore. Thank you for your thoughtful comment and opinions, really appreciate it 🙂

    San Jose is a great city to live in but is quite expensive to live in but there are many things you can do here and Christmas time is my favorite I remember going to Christmas in the park and seeing all the lights and decorations and I even see the decorations in other parts of San Jose and downtown is a nice place to go and walk and going ice skating during the winter time

    I used to live twenty minutes away from San Jose, making it the closer airport for me than San Francisco, even though I used to always fly out of San Francisco as it was a much cooler airport than San Jose, but I celebrated lots of Independence Days there though it was always so crowded in the Downtown with families camping out for days.

    @@ExplorationToGo I have a friend that goes to San Jose state for criminal justice. I don’t know if he graduated by now though. He still lives in California so I don’t really get in touch with him that often. San Jose is a lot calmer than San Francisco, but it can get real crowded during Fourth of July or if some major concert at the sap stadium occurs.

  • @ExplorationToGo

    Yes I agree, it does get crowded during special events, however, Sharks games aren't that bad. SF has so many tourist attractions, it gets crowded every day, and parking there is a pain, lol.

    @@ExplorationToGo yes, sf parking is a pain. I remember my dad has to drop us off at a place in sf and we had to wait two hours just for him to find parking, and that was after he dropped us off; sf doesn’t have decent public transportation as limited Bart stations too; Manhattan at least has a subway station near every street and sundays, parking is free

  • @ExplorationToGo

    @ExplorationToGo

    @NYCAirlineEnthusiast I agree, but there are apps now where you can find, reserve, and pay for available parking spaces in SF, which makes it very helpful, might want to check out those apps. I am sure a lot of major cities have adopted the similar apps as well.

    Most overpriced city ever. Imagine paying Manhattan rent for a box sized home in an oversized suburb with no real skyline or big city feel, and the coast still being an hour drive through twisty mountains.

    As someone who lives in nyc, Manhattan is actually less expensive than San Jose, especially for gas. For food, maybe, depending on the place, but only slightly, but some restaurants don’t give unlimited refills. New Jersey is a lot cheaper though.
