I always take pics of the ones I catch then have a look to see if they're the same fish from another time catching one, done it once so far

Great video, Andy! I have to admit I fished the same spot a couple of weeks ago for the first time........ without success, good to see how its done though!

Keep up the amazing work guys, have learnt so much from your vids, Im all about the dry fly but now its September im really struggling so perhaps its time to try some droppers or indicator rigs. I just love the top water fishing though.. perhaps ill try for some pike fly fishing.. sorry im going on and on.. ive drank too much!!! Cheers 🍻😁

It's got potential that's for sure Doug, I've always found the dove grayling get bigger the further up the river you go though. I'm gonna give it a good go!

Cracking grayling, highly under rated imo. I've just joined DCAC... is that one of beats? I've also just got a rod for Euro nymphing but am unsure about the set up above the indicator ie the running line. Looking at your reel there's some orange line... is that just backing? Would you recommend eg 9m tapered french leader or just a length of mono? Excellent to watch your technique... except perhaps getting that trout into the net... lol... its happened to us all. Cheers!

The orange is just backing, to increase the arbor of the reel so the tapered leader doesn’t curl as much.

Hi Andy can you tell me is grayling more prized than trout or the other way around.I am from new zealand and we just have trout here.I mostly fish a river called the Tongariro

I wouldn't say more than no, but they're a fantastic fish, we really love them! I very briefly fished major Jones while I was there but we were in a rush to get to the big O so I barely spent any time on Tonga. Next time!

I’m not a fly fishing fan but I’d like to see you & db fishing have a match ……get him out of his comfort zone ……
