Exploring Medieval Den Bosch | 's-Hertogenbosch in North Brabant - The Netherlands

's-Hertogenbosch, also called Den Bosch, has a history that dates back to the 12th century. I explore the historical center and pass many medieval sites such as the canals, the market square and the St. John's Cathedral (Sint-Janskathedraal). I also take a look inside the Cathedral and explore a local flea market.

Yes. The Netherlands is much more than just Amsterdam. I even like Den Bosch, Maastrichti, Groningen and Middelburg much much much more. The smaller towns outside De Randstad have a lot to offer and have less to suffer from tourism. Den Bosch, Maastricht and Middelburg are old medieval cities with in the centre still al lot in tact from even the early Middle Ages. Did you know that D'Artagnan, the most famous of the Musketeers, was killed during a siege outside the city walls of Maastricht and is buried there, but nobody exactly knows where. Den Bosch is one of the oldest inhabited areas of Western Europe. Around 2010 they discovered the remains of a Neanderthal encampment of 70.000 BC (!!!!!) near the town cente.
