When I went there in 2022, there was a small fee to enter the church and didn't have access to the area with pews and altar. It was also so hot. Visiting the art museum was a great break from the heat. Beautiful art pieces. Izamal is a neat place to visit.

The art museum was definitely a great break from the heat! We were surprised the church didn’t charge anything to enter!!! We wonder if it’s changed to be free to the public, or if we were just there on a day they didn’t charge. Such a pretty place!

We had huevos motulenos in Motul! It's a very charming, authentic market town. From there we went north to the coast, so we saved Izamal for our next trip to Yucatan.
