Exploring Inside an Abandoned Shopping Center! Pines Plaza
Ойын-сауық
This massive shopping center named Pines Plaza was left abandoned after all of the tenants were kicked out and forced to leave 2 to 4 years earlier than originally agreed upon. There was once over 30 stores here, including Planet Fitness, Melting Pot, Laura's Pet Grooming, Chef John's Chinese Cuisine, Farmtastic Food Market, Original Pancake House, Jersey Mike's Subs, Tahita Nails and Spa, and a pizzeria. We get to explore inside of all the stores and was surprised to find that so much stuff was left behind!
We hope you all enjoy this exploration and please be sure to give us a like and subscribe if you haven't already! We really appreciate your support! We also appreciate patience with the advertisements as part of the KZread Partner Program. The more we make, the farther we can go explore and show you all these amazing abandoned places!!

Fascinating how buildings and homes die so quickly when people aren't around.

Nature takes over very quickly
My husband and I just found your channel and we love it. The first video we watched was the one with the abandoned Carvel. We were so touched at how you guys fixed up the Carvel and re-hung the signs and re-decorated it to make it look like an open Carvel. We thought that was so respectful and sweet. Thank you for your videos and the respectful way you explore. It’s so interesting and sad at the same time. Thank you!

The multiple shower head thing is a hydro message bed. I’m shocked they didn’t take their equipment out with them, that stuff is super expensive!!! I would have taken it all even if I had to buy a storage unit.
I've lived next to that complex most of my life. The fact is, whoever owned it was demanding way too much in rent. Despite having many stores there, I can not remember a single time when all the store fronts were filled. The supermarket changed hands at least 4 times over the approximately 25 yrs since the complex was built. I knew some of the business owners there and the rent he demanded was too high to stay. I'm not surprised he sold and screwed them out of their leases.

I believe it. He just sold it all. All he wanted was quick money. Maybe the owner passed away and a family member took over. Thats usually what runs businesses to the ground.
At 33 min the company was Planet Swirl. A self-serve Fro-Yo shop. They also had a party room for kids parties. Having grown up in town with and old shopping center there and seeing it transformed into Pine Plaza in the 1990s, it makes me so sad to see all these places in this condition and ready to be torn down.
Out of all those businesses there was a lot of equipment that look kind of expensive they could’ve either repurposed it in another business or sold them it doesn’t make sense that it was all left behind never to be used again.

Well think about it, if you were a business owner and sunk all of your life savings into a business and failed, would you want to return to a place like this ? I know I wouldn't. How do you know this can be refurbished for a profit, some places want brand spanking New items.

This was what I thought when I saw the Chuck E. Cheese video, as well as this video. So much waste! So many things that can be donated or re-sold or turned into scrap for parts. Less of the trash, more the of reduce, reuse, recycle!
Wow that place is surreal! I’m surprised so much damaged can happen over 2 years. Great exploration guys! Keep it up!

I wish buildings could be moved. I can think of a lot of places that will be ecstatic to have a plaza like that. Life is not fair.
Its honestly crazy I watch tons of these. It never feels real until its a place you know. I used to go with my family to the melting pot all the time for major celebrations. To see it like this is heartbreaking.

Yeah, I’m wondering about the legality of breaking leases by the landlord… even with misuse of eminent domain the business had to have been compensated somehow & were they allowed to pickup their property?

Just trying to be helpful: When you walk into a space that's covered in black mold (As that martial art studio was, and especially as you stated you could smell it), you need a respirator. That sort of thing will really mess you up over long term by breathing those spores in. Just be careful.
I found your channel through tiktok. This is sad.. these businesses were once people’s dreams. I want to own a nail salon and those desks, pedicure chairs, and other equipment aren’t cheap. Those look to be in nice condition, I don’t understand why the owners would just leave everything. If I was being forced to close shop I’d atleast try to make some money back.. maybe they didn’t want to sell to a competitor.
Awesome video! It’s always cool to see abandoned places where people used to enjoy there daily lives

Agreed! This place was awesome 🏚
Just doesn't make sense why the business owners of the salon would just leave their equipment - that doesn't belong to the property owners. It looks more like a fire had happened in spots.
My hubby’s family lives in New Jersey we have passed this many times. This property will now be a Costco Whole sale store.
Interesting the shop owners would leave everything behind.
What nice 90s style find shopping center. Sad it's all wasted away. And geez I heard the word COOL nearly 40 times. Lol

When you see something so unreal and something you won’t probably ever see again, your going to be that excited. But it was sure a nice 90s style find.
Were the owners all evicted or bought out or something because the spa alone has THOUSANDS of dollars of stuff that could have been removed/taken to a new place. D:
I live in the area and grew up there. Before it was the pine plaza it was a small strip mall that had a liquoor store and ( maybe) an A and P. The reason it closed was the value of the land was more than the value of the retail business. It is going to be a combined retail/ housing complex ( i think rentals. They recently finished the demo and have started to build out the site.
The multi shower heads are for shower massage. Hydro shower massage. I've had it done and it's amazing. If u 2 can ever have it done do it. You'll feel amazing afterwards.
I just found your channel. You make amazing videos that show incredible detail in these abandoned places. I do have a serious question: Why don't you guys ever take small items as souvenirs? Liked and subscribed!! Keep making these fabulous videos, especially in Ohio!!

I'm thinking there was some environmental hazards going on in the entire plaza and that's why they evacuated and just left stuff behind. You don't want to carry biohazard, moldy, maybe asbestos equipment to a new shop! 🤷♀️ who knows what was really going on here!
It was a great place to shop. Went everyday at lunch.

This place is so incredible, so great explore, it's shame of this place.
I'd wish I knew about this. I'd drive my truck there and take the Leftover shit like chairs and usable stuff. I mean why not recycle? 🤷♂️
i just see a lot of $$$ sitting for the taking, FF&E is not cheap!
Awesome....
As soon as I saw those lights, I had those installed in the computer rooms. They are in great shape Door handles and fans Another industrial washer and dryer I really wish I knew about this place. And it is an upscale area so you don't see stuff taken
I'd totally taken the Supermarket Rascal. Those things are fun.
In Middletown NJ we had a local salon that in the back rooms, they offered, I'll call it, special services for men that where willing to pay. These services where why they got shut down, and now the place is a doggie spa
Thanks guys!

Why stores can't donate chair, desk , washing machines, etc? I guess some small business owners would be grateful!
I wish you had found the electrical phone utility room for the plaza There is a central room usually around back that the phone and power comes in and runs to each business. The meters are all inside the room as is the phone equipment
Reminds me of a place I saw in Gary Indiana. So sad!

Yea the dog grooming business did down the road, im not sure about the others
I used to pass that all the time.
Did the businesses get compensated for their losses? And usually a lease is a binding agreement on both sides, the landlord can't just terminate the lease without cause.
The place I like the most was the Chinese food it looks great
So crazy how do you not get in trouble for exploring these places? Awesome videos
@urbaxvibes
Жыл бұрын
Theirs no need to get in trouble we’re doing nothing wrong… if we ever encounter police we’ll get let go after explaining to them what we’re doing. They’ll just make us leave - but thank you 😁
If they left the HVAC units on the roof, each of those is worth 100,000 dollars You need a crane to get them, but this plaza is not that old. It is so much money for those units. Even just bench tables from the diner are 800 dollars each I have helped with a friend who sold their business and I found buyers for their equipment and made them 80,000 in just 2 days on merchandise they were going to throw out. I don't know what these people were thinking. There has to be more to this story I bet they didn't know they were being forced to leave and just had a day or two to get out. This looks exactly like a place that the owner forced them out with legal action and they had to leave, an eviction, and took just what they could carry. You don't leave this The tax records, they would not leave behind. Northern NJ has a lot of corruption. This looks like a bad situation that they were forced out. The light fixtures, so much money. Restaurant equipment is always valuable. Usually they lease a lot of it because it costs so much.
The U desk is 700 dollars The filing cabinet is 400 Business fax machine, office chairs It hurts my head to see this much waste
The phone equipment, the PBX systems have value. The electric panels have value and can be reused. So much money just left to the wrecking ball makes Zero sense Something very strange about this
This is a dense area. They must be going to put in a big box store.
Great setting for Zombie Film or programme
Do you ever get to keep any of the stuff you find
Why wouldn't these businesses have sold their merchandise ? It makes no sense to not sell the equipment that has value
Working washer and dryer, 1000 dollars right there Just makes no sense they left all this money behind
All that expensive stuff. Daaaamn bruh. Lol find some places around New Orleans

DVR security camera storage unit. Cameras I really wish I had known about this place. I bet I could have pulled 200,000 dollars out of there in equipment alone
Why did they all leave the belongings?
😳😳😳
still some valuable stuff inside especially in that beauty salon surprised not been fully emptied
Now demolished. will be replaced with mixed commercial and housing.
That thing with multiple shower heads is for a table shower massage
here in nz spa pedicure chairs are worth $2000 minimum
Why hasn't anyone taken that valuable equipment
