His Dark Materials stars Dafne Keen, James McAvoy, Ruth Wilson and Lin-Manuel Miranda. Adapting Philip Pullman’s award-winning trilogy of the same name, which is considered a modern masterpiece of imaginative fiction, the first season follows Lyra, a seemingly ordinary but brave young woman from another world. I think people are just under exposed to it
I literally CANNOT believe how underrated this show is. Why isn't everyone watching this??? Ps: sad they destroyed the witches plot

Because when they tried to make the series into movies, the movie was pushed to be so hollywood that it gave the book no justice. I read the series when I was in high school and loved them. I am so in love that they have brought the true beauty of the series.

yeah, the witch sleeping in the last episode while she was supposed to be protecting Lyra, was pretty ridiculous. but the show is awesome overall.
By far the most intriguing and realistic depiction of what it means to be a true "Witch" in any series, ever, hands-down. A being who is in tune with the forces of nature & the cosmos, elevating beyond the physical. I find this series' visual interpretation of Pullman's witches absolutely stunning to watch. The actresses who play the witches really do a wonderful job of capturing that magnetic presence. These ladies would destroy J.K. Rowling's witches any day!
Love this series!!! The 2nd season really reeled me in. Such a refreshing different concept that entertains and intrigues every week. Looking forward to the last season...wished it continued to more seasons.

He’s written two more books with Lyra in - the book of dust volumes 1 and 2. And another one coming. For my money, the book of dust vol 2 is his best work so far. It’s astonishing writing. Lyra is 20 y/o in it. So perhaps in a few years they can adapt that one too? 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼
I read the trilogy when I was in high school. They made the first movie and went overboard and tried to make it a big budget hollywood movie that they completely lost the true beauty behind the book. This series has done such an awesome job, down to the casting of each character. I am in complete awe of how amazing the show is. Can't await for season 3!
Probably worlds most underrated show
Really enjoyed this season. It went too quickly. I hope season 3 comes soon!!
They will need a 15 episode season to make room for everything that's in the 3rd book or divide in 2 seasons of 8 episodes because there's a lot going on in that book.

That's what I was saying... At least 12-15 finale or split the finale into 7 shows a book... Finally we get to see the spectres, now the weird creatures from the Amber Spyglass...
