Really enjoyed this entire series. Great job HBO for seeing this through and making it fun and emotional.

I find the least promoted programs are usually one of the best. Cant wait to get into this gem.

At least they should have added an explanation about those little agents working for Asriel in the first episode. I´ve tried to avoid the books and wait for conclude this series; but seeing that little people and then one of them following Lyra and Will (and they do not get surprised to see him) that´s was odd for me.

The show does rush through things, but I think it keeps the show moving at a good pace. In the book, the Gallivespians are a little more fun and they ride around on dragonflies rather than having their own wings.

Well I actually was expecting more "weird" beings, since they are supposed to come from many different worlds, I dont think you have to explain each race knowing this

I was wondering where do these tiny flying soldiers come from?

i like how they despatched the decrepid Creator God. No fuss, no intent. It was a more deliberate act in the book- an act or mercy. In this version it was an aside, inconsequential.

HBO, please, where is the openning you always post when releasing His Dark Materials?

@@NJRIII they portrayed like that in the show too. But the budget for the last series clearly wasn't big enough to make that happen for every scene

No there are angels who were cast out for finding out that "God" (also known as the Authority) is just an angel that lied about created the many worlds, and that Dust is what gives living beings free will and without Dust, organisms would just be hollow shells, which is what the Magesterium (the church) wants, because they believe that Dust is "sin" and without it, people can be easier to control. So no, no devil demons.

Here's a story within a short story in 1992 by Neil Gaiman... Angels, who were sexless, 'belonged' to their function. In the time of pre-Creation, two angels who were tasked to work on the concept of 'Love', fell in love. Not just platonic love, but physical desire as well. Then they were tasked to work on the concept of 'Death', that led to one inadvertently killing the other. And so the murdering lover was punished by being destroyed, by an angel tasked with Vengeance. Lucifer cried at the wrongness done to his kin, and this was the catalyst to his rebellion.

I could see if they didn't know b/c when people go through problems in life they could accidentally do that bc of pain or don't know any better, but this is no pain, no ignorance just plain old nastiness and awareness.

Calm down. 😭💀 It's a TV show, based on popular Young Adult books. Ya'll complained that Harry Potter promoted witchcraft, and would have a generation of children casting spells, too. You folks constantly underestimate children & young people, and act as if they can't tell the difference between fact & fiction. Plus, who says that your interpretation of "God" is even accurate anyway?? Ya'll worry about the wrong things...

If you lived in a country where occult practitioners carry out ritual human sacrifice, it wouldn't seem like just harmless fun.

Amazing, isn't it. 2,000 years ago writers described the values and attitudes that would prevail in our time. It has to happen this way, otherwise the scriptures would be wrong. Just make sure you aren't on the losing side.

Lyra was the most annoying character on the show.

Pure low budget wreckage. I could barely end the first season, during which I slept a lot. I loved the book, and the 2007 Golden Compass was such a promise... Rubbish.
