❚ Exploring hidden lochs in Scotland | Aviemore, Cairngorms National Park | DHShields
❚ On a recent trip to #Aviemore near the #CairngormsNationalPark in #Scotland we decided to try to find a few hidden lochs tucked away in the wilderness.
Loch Morlich was indeed a vast, mountainous scene with picturesque surroundings but it was definitely Loch An Eilean with it's 'floating' 13th century castle that captured my imagination and inspired me to paint the landscape. Our trip ended with witnessing the famous Strathspey steam train as it departed Aviemore in a cloud of white. Overall a fantastic trip which we thoroughly enjoyed :)

Wir waren im August 2022 am Loch an Eilein... wunderschön dort rund herum durch den Wald zu laufen... es ist einfach traumhaft dort. Sehr zu empfehlen. Danke für das schöne Video

Watching from Brooklyn! Great videos
Another great video. What a gorgeous town; I must visit! Really loved the painting, and you becoming part of it was brilliant! Too bad it was so windy to fly the drone; you still managed to capture great footage. You have such a talent to pair the music with the scenes, it’s truly remarkable. I’m so glad to have found your channel😊Thanks for sharing.
We stayed in Kingussie during our visit to Scotland in 2018 and trekked from Loch an Eilein to a tiny loch to the east, towards Loch Morlich and I long to return. The fernweh for Scotland hits me like a ton of bricks when I watch your videos, thank you so very, very much.

Thanks, great video! I am off to Cairngorms on Feb 1st with my daughter. Staying in a hotel in Inverness but plan on 2 days hiking from Aviemore into the national park. Any suggestions on closest parking spots to the hills and munroes please? I am mindful of changing weather and lack of daylight hours, so proximity to the car park will be key. Also, any ideas on best places to see wildlife would be appreciated. Thanks
nice video, shame about the wind, must have been hard to paint those trees blowing about hehehe. music choice was a bit dodgy, that guitar was awful hehehe.

@@DHShields yeah i just played around with it, hard to find the chords but a few arpeggios to fil out the chords. early on it goes down to a G i think, and from then on it only goes down to B which leaves the chords sort of uncomfortable?

How much is accessible without a car?
@DHShields
3 ай бұрын
Hi William, Aviemore is more than accessible without a car. You could get the train there which gives you access to the main town and all it's facilities (including the steam train). From there it's an hours walk to Rothiemurchus's Loch An Eilein (the loch with the castle). In my video however, the first loch featured (Loch Morlich) would need to be via a bus but if you Google it I believe there is one to Glenmore that would get you there. Hope this helps and thank you for the comment! Wishing you a great trip if you choose Aviemore, we absolutely loved it 😊 Best, Derek
