Eastbourne is a town and seaside resort in East Sussex, just 20 miles from Brighton. Famed for the majestic chalk cliffs of Beachy Head, that form just part of the South Downs, it also has a grand line of Victorian hotels on it's seafront. Eastbourne Beach is just part of a 6.4km stretch of beach that goes from Sovereign Harbour to Beach Head and although it is mostly shingle. it is one of the longest beaches in Britain. Our Eastbourne walking tour starts near the Wish Tower on Eastbourne Promenade, heads right up to Eastbourne Pier and then moves into Eastbourne Town Centre. We hope you enjoy it...

Hi Don! yes it's nice to see some elegance in a sea resort isn't it? That's uplifting to hear that coastal towns are bouncing back, I hope that happens for our nearby Southend, it feels that in some parts of the seafront for sure. Our town of Leigh on sea has always done ok and is booming. I do hope you get that “Staycation”, any thoughts of where you'd like to go? We'll be in Cornwall in a few weeks and looking forward to the change of scene.

The way things are with us, we are in Glasgow a couple of afternoons a week on business. Staycation ? We would only be able to stay away for a couple of nights; so perhaps Oban, St Andrews, Edinburgh, Newcastle or the Lake District. But nothing booked yet 😊. Cheers, Don

I love Eastbourne. I have friends who lived in Sovereign Harbour for a few years so I used to visit regularly although I have not had a chance to go back since. I will try and get there this year.

I know Eastbourne has alot of old people but I was absolutely shocked when I seen sherlock homes on the pier he must be ancient. Lovely place .

Lovely walking tour of Eastbourne. I visted briefly a couple of years ago after hiking the seven sisters, but didn't get to see much of the place. Would like to return. Hi there alcs85, The time you did this walk was on a Saturday I think and in the spring time. We found the busiest time was mid afternoon. Hope that's helpful?

Hello there Ken, I'm so sorry to hear about your mobility constraints due to your stroke. I hope in some small way these films are of help to you, hopefully they can give you an idea of some places that may be more accessable than others in terms of flatness and ramps etc.

As a retiree, I am relocating and it is a toss up between Bournemouth & Eastbourne. So far, Eastbourne is winning. Am I making a mistake?
