Love the fun, the narration and the videography. no dull moment with you guys. these penguins are so fun to watch. the flamingos are stunning. so many animals, and this zoo is surrounded by scenic views. the chimpanzees are a loot of fun to watch too. there is something about Tigers that's amusing even if there dangerous. we really enjoyed your storytelling. "see you later alligator" that is a bummer, looking for a place to eat but hard to find in winter time. But you finally found a cool place. "cheers to the good side"

Love Colwyn Bay 💜💜 You had me at Penguins.. i love them so much, even Garry the penguin, he was a legend. Made me giggle watching the feeding, your right Rach, they are really funny to watch. Those tigers were so beautiful as were the bears but you're bang on, they need much bigger enclosures really. Loved the look of the Ink gallery, the hot chocolate and cake looked good! Looks like a really cool and different area. Cheeky few facts thrown in which was so interesting! No chippy open in a seaside town? absolutely madness hehe. Thank god for cake! Thats very reasonable for a zoo! The animals have a great location and view from up there and it’s nice to hear about their work looking after the seals. Those penguins are very tame, boo to the greedy gulls! Lovely sea lions! Oh no poor Wills! I fell over last Saturday in front of half a dozen KZreadrs and not one of them caught it on camera! Doh. The tigers and bears were stunning. Some amazing animals in that zoo. Shame about the fish and chips, but great find on ink! Well done Ella! Great Christmas find in the precinct. It’s a very artsy place isnt it? Very quaint small pier, love the colour. What a cracking day 👍

Hi guys hope you are both well. Like you we are unsure about zoos but recognise they have a important part to play in conservation, its a difficult balance. We have been waiting for the penguins 🐧 and they were fantastic great stuff. Poor Wills his jeans definitely needed a wash after the fall! The board games at the ink gallery were great always like a good board game.. The original hotel looked like it would have been a great setting for a horror movie. Ah this brought back some nice memories for us guys, we haven't been to Colwyn Bay for years, but use to visit often, you are right about the beach, its beautiful there, but we might have to boycott on protest of there being no chips at the seaside to be had!😮😢 . Or maybe we will just visit in summer 😂. Thank goodness for that cool little cafe ink, love stumbling across places like that 🎨🖼☕️👌. We have been to the little mountain zoo too. You are right, hands down the penguins are the best part! They are just so damn cute, and so comical to watch ❤ 🐧. We feel much the same as you guys on zoos, we absolutely love animals, and it is really special to see these amazing creatures up close, but never at their expense. The animals did look well cared for though, and zoos do have their place in conservation and of course preservation of endangered species (even though humans created that problem too, but that is a rant for another time 😮). It was good to hear the mountain zoo have a seal hospital,how lovely🏥🦭❤. It looked like a lovely day out guys, hope Wills got the mud out of his jeans, you must have been kicking yourself you didn't catch that on camera Rach!😂. Fab Sunday night telly viewing as always. First time I stayed in Colwyn Bay didnt like it for a night out .pubs were poor. Then at the end of a stage of Wales Coastal Path at Colwyn Bay I have to go for a beer so I discovered micro pub the Black Cloak Taproom. Great wee place and whenever Im back down in North Wales on a Sunday I stay at the Travelodge and go to the quiz night at Black Cloak .oh and nice bakery sandwich shop in shopping centre

We did see last weeks video, albeit it late, Rachel and Wills. Sorry. It's been crazy busy here. And we're retired! I'd waddle about too for fish! Shame there wasn't any. Didn't waddle enough! I get what you say about zoos. I have mixed feelings too. There are pros and cons. We have one we visit occasionally called Burger's Zoo. I may have to introduce you to it - I'm pretty sure no bars. Anyway, it's not about Burger's Zoo but Colwyn Bay. Those penguins are ever so cute. Love their waddle. I now you do re-takes when you stumble on the text Rachel, why didn't you do a re-do of Wills' fall? Oh maybe as unkind as bars on too small enclosures 🤣. NO HOT CHIPS! Chippies, take note 🥲! It looks a nic eplace to visit, possible more so in summer. Glad you will go back for another visit. Found it very interesting, the food headquarters too. Interesting indeed. It has a load more money and a tv programme to at follows it and is an amazing zoo, you can't beat Garyvthe penguin though! I have to do every bit of dialogue numerous times! Those penguins were very cute and loved the fact they came out for a walk. I think zoos have improved and are improving, especially when it comes to which animals can be found in a particular zoo. The Adelaide city zoo used to have Polar Bears, but it's also got summers where the temperature goes into the 40sCelcius, it's not the correct environment for them, the zoo keepers did put out blocks of ice for them to lie on, but still not great for them. A number of years ago they decided to close the Polar bear area and the bears were sent to a zoo in a cooler country. Large roaming animals now are generally kept in safari park type zoos where the animals can move around. So there is some improvement and the focus on animal conservation is keeping particular species alive.

It's a lovely place.

Using my prodigious knowledge of penguins I can confidently say that the Colwyn penguins are Humboldt penguins from South America. And by prodigious knowledge I mean I googled it because I honestly didn't recognise it. I can name about 15 species of penguins but I hadn't seen that one before. Who knew? Anyway, if you ever come to Melbourne we have a colony of Little Penguins (Fairy Penguins), a stone's throw from the CBD. They are pretty cool. We rarely see other varieties here but we did a metric shite ton of penguins when we went to Antarctica. They're freakin' everywhere. I think one colony we visited had something like a million birds. Phwoar. Otherwise, I'm a bit like you and 50-50 on zoos. Seeing penguins in a zoo is a bit iffy even. But they are a necessary evil. Zoos, not penguins. Penguins are just evil. Ever wonder why there are no polar bears in Antarctica? Yep. Penguins. Speaking of birds. That ostrich like bird didn't quite look ostrichy enough for me. Kind of like an emu but smaller and not as dark. I think I will call it a bush chicken. The zoo did look pretty good except for the tigers and the bears. Interesting that the bears were eating rabbits. Reminds me of an old joke. A bear and a rabbit were taking a shit in the woods. The bear asks the rabbit, "Does shit stick to your fur when you take a crap?" The rabbit looks up and says, "No. Why?". The bears smiles and says "Good" and picks up the rabbit and wipes his arse with him. And on that brown note. Adieu. PS What the hell 2 bit town doesn't do chips? For future reference there is a KFC in town. I googled that too. I do not have a prodigious knowledge of Welsh KFCs. Or Maccas for that matter. PPS I ate bear once. Bear soup. We didn't know it was bear until we asked what it was we were eating. It was not horrible. Local free range apparently. No I would not have eaten it otherwise. It was in Japan btw. So while I have never seen an actual bear shit in the woods I can safely say I have shit a bear. Thank you, I will be here all night. Try the bush chicken.

Hahaha on the money as always Shane! Yep, Humbolt penguins, go to the top of the class. These were Uber cute, but I can see them taking on polar bears - seagulls/chickens on this part of the north wales coast are the worst kind of thugs and they were backing off! Loved your bear/rabbit joke, Wills will probably steal that one! Sorry the ostrich wasn't ostrichy enough! Probably wasn't an ostrich, but no one else noticed!! Yep, chip shortage = bad times!! We had to go home and have some toast! The KFC in question is a standing joke between us! When we were most young and just started going out we went to Colwyn Bay - probably on a Sunday as nothing was open. We were starving but there was no food to be found. Wills at this time thought I was a nice pleasant girl! Very hangry, I asked if KFC meant Kaniav some F**kin Chicken - it was funny at the time! Amazingly we're still together. I remember the beach in the 70s nice. Pier, kiosks along the prom, mini train to Eiras Park. By the 80s failure to maintain the tide breaks let the beach drop to bedrock, a drop of 15ft plus. The new beach was created 2022, I saw the works. Nice now, but no tide breaks built, so I give it 5 years till the bedrock reappears. As for the town centre ......
