exploring Colaba causeway in Mumbai - night markets and Gateway of India
We travelled to Mumbai last November and got an amazing chance to stay at one of India's oldest, finest and most famous luxury hotels, Taj Mahal Mumbai, which is located at a prime location in the posh, historical Colaba in old (South) Mumbai, right next to the Gateway of India, the Arabian Sea and a huge selection of things to see, do and eat, especially on the famous shopping street Colaba Causeway. Exploring everything the city of Mumbai has to offer proved to be too tricky for us with a toddler and the crazy Mumbai traffic, so we were very happy to stay close to our hotel in Colaba and marvel all the beautiful, old houses, famous landmarks, high-end stores interesting little shops, cafes and hole in the wall eateries. Have lived in Mumbai for almost 35+ years. Though I have visited the Taj Hotel before, only recently did I get the opportunity of a staycation at the Taj. It was a magical experience. We too stayed at the old Taj and had a gorgeous view of the Gateway and the Arabian Sea. I can completely understand your emotion of being awestruck 😊. Colaba is one of my favourite areas in Mumbai. Glad that Annika got to experience this part of Mumbai.

My favourite area in Mumbai is Bandra, which I feel is a bit like metro life mixed with a hint of the Goa vibes :) But Colaba doesn't come far behind! How good to hear you've got to experience the wonders of the Taj, it's unforgettable!

Staying in a hotel like Taj where all the basic necessaties of daily life are taken care for you is also quite a relaxing experience, on top of the fact that I also enjoy the more global, liberal vibe of Mumbai 😊 and maybe it’s all the smoked salmon I ate at the breakfast buffet too 😅 I love how much Annika loves all the live music!! 😍

In the beginning of this video, beautiful inside of Taj hotel we get to see again and therefore the outside of the hotel, busy life of Mumbai city, night view of market... everything is amazing... Annika's happiness after seeing the toys, sweet talking and lastly asking for apple at hotel room is really loveable to watch....ruko, ruko to the cars while crossing the road with papa....so sweet ❤

I have a family member who is not well and it's a v long term illness and that's the reason why I returned to the UK. By the way iv just watched the vlog. It was SUPER 👌 I don't think I could manage the crowd at India gate either (think it's India gate where u went to anyways). @@JohannaNorth BTW your opening video shots inside the Taj was so excellent, the lit Corridor shot and the slow pan and lingering details on some of the artifacts etc. Taj could just use them as a Promotional video and pay you guys for it instead of paying an advertiser. Maybe that’s what you should think about doing .. you could get supplemental income doing promotional ads for corporate besides Vinod working..😊.. just a suggestion.

Taj may well be EXTRA careful allowing so many videos, especially by Foreigners from particular country which is always working against India's interest and Honest, most respected and successful industrial houses like Tatas. They simply don't want competition from the Enterprise at international level in all fields.

I think most things can be made look better, very beautiful with good photo- or videography :) But I do also enjoy visiting such a lively city of endless options after living in a very quiet, remote area for many years!
