Exploring and Camping Michigan's Upper Peninsula Overland Trip

Spent a few days with friends in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It was a great time, but I cut it a bit short due to bad storms rolling through. My suspicions were correct and it ended up being a sleety rainy mess the following morning. Hope you enjoy the video!

I love camping in the UP. Its going to be a yearly thing for me now. Spent 10 days up there this year, 2020, camping across Lake Superior shoreline. Didnt do as rugged camping as you did but still had a great time. Thanks for a great video.

Thanks for watching! It's gorgeous up there. I wasn't able to get up there at all 2020, but I'm hoping I'll find time next year. Maybe I'll just make it a priority! 😄

I agree, hard to beat that camping spot. That is how you do it! Good food with amazing views. Just subscribed and clicked the bell. Looking forward to more of your adventures. I'm from Grand Rapids and will be v-logging my journey next February, as I begin my journey on the Appalachian Trail. Lot's of Michigan hikes this summer....getting ready.

At 8:15 I figured you guys were simply looking for a line down to the bottom! :D At 10:10, there is a cemetery across the water to the left. Rather grown in. Tried to find it once but the snow was too deep. Will be back there in a month or so. Very cool video, keep em coming!

We were about 25 minutes east of L'Anse for one night. The second night was an actual campground. To be honest I cant even remember the name??? It was a first come first serve campground with no reservations and only about 10 sites. It was on a river. I think it had a fish name?? Like Salmon or Pike something??? Man, getting old sucks... 🤣 I'm sure some Google searching would yield a better result lol

At around 7:05 or so, you said you didn't know there was anything like this in the U.P. well, we're trying to keep it that way too. As a Yooper I've seen the way tourists have trashed the U.P....well, this is my HOME. I would never go to your home or your neck of the woods and trash it. I am in no way saying you would or did, I am just putting this out there. I LOVE the U.P. and you can see why I do and why I want to protect it. I hope I don't get any of that BS where someone states that "if it wasn't for us tourists, you'd be up a creek". If that's the case then bring on the creek. I just want people to respect and love the U.P. as much as I do and to remember that people LIVE here and call this "Home"...

Absolutely. I'm in love with that area. And believe me, i tread lightly and leave no trace when i camp. Maybe some coffee grounds I spilled, but I digress... lol. It's a shame that High Rock looks the way it does. I won't go there in the summer months because it looks like skid row with all the tents & people. Thanks for the comment & I totally sympathize with your comment.

It's weird to me to see you wheeling with these other people but the video makes no mention of them whatsoever. Especially since the people and relationships are such a big part of overlanding. Not suggesting interviews or anything, but a quick shot of each person saying "hi" or even a quick marquee with their name would go a long way toward grounding your story to the people that made it. Just my two cents. Don't be afraid to include the people.

Honestly, couldn't agree more. Being in front of the camera is still foreign to me, but I'm learning as I go and making adjustments. It always feels weird walking around with a camera filming people. Something I just gotta get over I guess... Thanks for the feedback!
