I don't want to think badly of the caretakers, but I agree with you Sue. Being lazy, and then calling it, "God's Garden", seems like a cop-out to me. If my loved one was buried there, I'd be upset. Enough of that, let's talk about the breathtakingly GORGEOUS church!! I was in awe! Thank you so very much for walking through the fields to share this with us! I was mesmerized by it's beauty. Oh, those stained glass windows, the arches, and the alter! Perfection!

What a beautiful old church. Nothing makes me sadder than a decommissioned church. We build a home for God to dwell, and then because of the changing population and finances, the church is closed and abandoned. Cemeteries may be maintained for awhile but after 200 years there is nobody left to remember the departed and no one wants to pay to maintain it. I guess all things go back to God and nature in the end. Thank you, Sue, for all your trouble to take us there.

Hi Sue and GV. I completely agree with you on the cemetery. Maybe just a section of it for conservation purposes. People bury their loved ones in the hopes that their names and monuments will be seen in years to come. I fear this beautiful place will be nothing but forest in 50 years. You won't even know there's a graveyard there, and that would be a shame. As far as the church goes, it's a magical place. Just gorgeous! Wouldn't you have loved to see it when it was whole? Thank you for taking us to this lovely pastoral place.

Wow!! What an ABSOLUTELY STUNNING place!! SOOOOOO green and peaceful!! I especially love the church ruins!! It's like being in Fairyland!!🧚‍♂️🧚‍♀️❤ The local council could still use it for nature, and still make the graveyard accessible for visitors!! They could do that in a modern graveyard, where the occupants would agree to it before burial.

Whenever I see these beautiful old churches I think of all the people who've been there all those who have been married , christened, all those who have had their funeral service there . All the hymns services and prayers that have been said very positive energy 😊 thanks sue ❤

What a place.. I do like the bits under the trees, I think it's the lighting. That chapel definitely looks like a Disney set without a doubt.. yes hard work does pay off even in actual pride I have when I make a song. Fantastic video Sue. Cathal you scarcely sounded like a feckin cow 😂

Such a magnificent place

Pure and simple laziness! From the little I found, with older photos, the church was de-consecrated in 1985, but the grounds are still being used. I'd have no hope of getting there in my wheelchair, lol. Inside was breathtaking Sue, paint still in place, those side aisle archways, beautifully coloured stained glass, and did I see a small rose window above the altar section? It's sad that it can't be preserved. Anywho, thank you for a lovely little adventure. Take care and be safe. Deb of Oz XXX

I couldn't agree more and I can guarantee that's what I'll start finding more and more, these places neglected with a sign saying, left for wildlife, I'm sorry but it's lazy. I love the ruins and the beauty but a simple path so we can read the graves would be simple and easy to do.

Wish all of the old graveyards and cemeteries be saved from being claimed by nature. We could save as much as we can and keep educating the public like what you and GV are doing.

Oh, I was laughing when you said “ mop and a bucket”, lol. I could just see you mopping the floor of a skeleton of a church! But it’s a shame those in charge didn’t want to be responsible for the keeping up of that church yard. I’d be tempted to leave the gate open so the sheep could graze there and take the grass down.

Absolutely beutifull video Sue the church is a real show case with what nature has done with it very beutifull indeed so nice to see windows that haven't been vandalised I also agree with you about the wild life there are plenty of trees and bushes for the wild life it wouldn't hurt to clear around the grave stones for easy access it's in all honesty just a small areas I don't think it would be too much to clear and tidy up around there I really like your videos about what you do I think there very interesting keep up the grate work cheers! 💒

There may some people of your ilk who might dedicate the time, effort, and money to voluntarily mow the grass and cut back the hedges to expose all these lovely graveside memorials such that people came better appreciate them. I'm not holding my breath trying to find these devoted individuals, it has to be said. 🤣 Yet. neglected or not...these places are so beautiful and calming. I'm in agreement with you Sue. Letting the graveyard go to rack and ruin is not God's garden in my opinion. To me its always sad when a Church becomes abandoned. So gorgeous what remains. I can imagine all the pews and perhaps a glorious pipe organ playing the wonderful old Hymns.
