I drove a genuine 400bhp rwd saff, it was an absolute weapon and squatted so much under boost that the backbox would scrape the road!

The only way it should be 😎👊👍👌✌
Nice car and good vid, not a 4 wheel drive spoiler, they were all the same until the facelift 4x4’s in 92 that had no black lip and shark tooths.

Yes your right about the spoiler, it was 2wd and 4x4 so very appropriate as part of a 4wd look. Thanks.

Wrong wheels wrong bonnet wrong indicators wrong rear lights and number plate surround Them wheels though 😂
Love a nicely setup RWD Saph. The 4x4 is perfect for the twisty bits, but the RWD brings out the hooligan in you.
The purist in me is crying for the Twix bar alloys, non vented bonnet and original front bumper but that is one beautiful machine.
That turbo flutter is the best noise ever on a car love it

My friend had a saff, back in the day. His was around 280 break. Venoms, konis, big intercooler, and a peco big bore. Old school! It was rapid back in the day. Sadly it got stolen, and burnt. Like so many other cossies. I always wanted an rs turbo as a kid, I could never afford the insurance on a cossie.
6.20 Explain a 4x4 front bumper please

Bumper that came off a 4x4 cos when mine got damaged. Hope that helps.
Still got my 3 Door 👍
Max & Lee. Firstly Thank You! Absolutely fascinating. And what a machine. [Max, your face provided quite an insight! ] Lee, what a machine you have 'created'! So good to know that you get thumbs up and that the 'younger' generation can appreciate a 'classic fast Ford'. Never quite understand why 'hot' Fords are not appreciated more. Yes the Fiesta ST gets the praise it rightly deserves yet the latest Focus ST goes completely unnoticed? Why? Certainly up there with the i30N and the 'soft around the ediges' latest Golf GTi. Would be so good if You and Lee could get your hands on the swansong Focus ST and take it out on the Welsh roads. Or indeed your up coming Lakes Road trip. Thanks again guys, not least Lee for this fascinating insight. Right back to work! .

Thanks Keith! We are glad you enjoyed this one! Definitely worth seeing what the Sapphire was about 👌
The lights are standard across all 1990!spec onwards cars. The spoiler is the same across all sapphire cosworths apart from the last cars that had the black lip painted body coloured.
Great vid two great people ❤❤❤

Be 3 great people if you were in it
2:08 it's a 4-door saloon. the hatchbacks are 3-door and 5-door (and the estates are 5-door) while the saloons are 4-door. on a hatchback (or estate), the hatch is counted as an extra door, but on a saloon, the boot lid is not counted as an extra door.

Enjoyed this. Love your Cosworth👍 Owned 3 Sapph Cossies in the past, one 2wd and two 4x4's. Similar to Lee I sold my last one a 'K' Plate 351 BHP Smokestone example 10 years ago for nearly the same money as Lee's 3 Door sold back then. I miss the Cossie, just a great thing to drive that looked so good and went so well. Would have another tomorrow but a little too strong money wise for me in todays climate

Good to hear off another cosworth owner. Those that know, know mate..😉
Although he got some of the 4x4 info wrong he knows his car and he is a Cosworth man so that’s all that matters 👍🏻

Great video lads , with over 400bhp and little 205 section tyres im shocked that it didn't light the rear tyres up especially in 1st and 2nd and 32psi boost you sure its 411bhp 😮

The size of the turbo limits boost in 1st. It won’t come on full boost till 3rd really. Modern stuff with variable vane tech, VVT, high compression rates etc are totally different to drive.

@@exgtt2061 a t34 isn't big , I've owned cosworths in the past and driven plenty with 400+bhp that would light up 2nd gear off the throttle bouncing off the limiter and with 225 rear section tyres , I'm not saying it's not 411bhp it just didn't look like it not 1 little bit , still a fantastic example and the owner was a true fanatic

Do love a saph cossie dream car for me. But decided to build a cossie capri
Had no grip but as a handling car he loved it especially in the twisty's with it being 4 wheel drive o.O
Nice cossie . Can't beat a cossie on boost
nice car
411bhp from a t34 is some effort! What kind of boost you running through it? Also what injectors is it running? Looks a Nice example

Greys and 32psi (ish) as I mention in the review. 👍
I always preferred the sapphire over the 3 door cosworths
3dr cars were slightly lighter with will be why they feel a bit easier to maneuver.... can't whack a cossy ... and in any model 😅
it's like a small falcon
Dads mate had one exact same colour he was in a wheelchair and after his payout (minibus accident) he brought 3 cossies Safire, escort and a mark 1 Ford van with a cosworth engine fitted. My dad made all the hand controls all very good looking scary motors.😮

He rebuilt all my motocross bikes, now sadly gone from us. ✌️
4dt it’s a saloon MOMO arrows not seen them in years
Love cossy's me sick R kid 👌😏

@@LeeMllison-white-pj6zkFellow Cossie nutter here, had a 2wd saph 380hp UT T34 then moved on to my current 3dr. At 9.30 odd you pulled in 1st into 2nd, are you honestly telling me that was your foot down to the floor 32 psi? If not why not? because the whole point is to prove the famous Cossie pull as your passenger expressed before the drive. I have a vid on my channel with my 3dr modifies T3. The T34 isn't a big turbo it's an outdated piece of crap and so are the T38's. Putting a. 48 or. 55 housing on the T34 is a far better experience, but there are so many better turbo's and injector options these days I seriously recommend you upgrade. The lag in the video sounds like a. 63 housing but there's little turbo pressure buildup and a strong sacrifice of torque, hence it's either a really bad portrayal and you should of given it full send, or you were and that's all it had to give.

Correct on the .63 and correct (as I've stated in previous comments) I'm Jo likely to act like a hooligan lighting the rear end up on my friends channel, driving on a public highway with my plates on show...🤣 that driving is strictly for the track your honor...😉

411bhp at the rear wheels on a T34.....really??? 👀🙄
Them wheels are definitely not on the right car
I wtedy wchodzi kick
Neither of ya actually appeared to drive it like ya stole it which is how they should be drove , should of been bouncing of limitter😂
We all loved them back in the day. BUT ! Let’s not get it twisted. It’s just an old badly built shed that drives like crap. Sorry Gary’s and Lees 😂
Sorry but for a 411bhp Sierra it's one of the most boring car videos I've ever seen. 2 guys talking and that's it. I mean, show the whole car, dashboard, accessories, how it burns tires, the whole engine bay, the sound coming out the exhaust, compare it to the 1st cosworth, the merkur xr4ti, the Sierra XR4... but no.
I've not had 5 cosworths, no offence but he don't know that much , 4x4 did have black lip spoiler untill 92/93 the last ones made only had colour coded lip , the front bumpers were the same just bonnet had the louvres

There's a few more differences between 2wd and 4x4 to get technical. Wheels, gearbox, oil filler cap, breaks.... I wouldn't want to bore you though..😉 Front bumper were indeed on a 4x4 and 2wd i didn't say any different. Just the car has a 4x4 look.
