We don’t need to compare/choose one. They compliment each other, that’s why Matthias Jabs and Rudolf Schenker own this combo. One of the best guitar duos ever.🤘🏽

Explorer simply because of the tuning stability offered by the 6 in line tuners. The 6 inline mini grovers are the best Gibson headstock design

@@audio5552 I mean yeah, to a certain degree, but assuming these are the same pickups (we have no proof) these sound too different to be from the same amp instance. At very least, they’re EQed differently. What exactly do you think makes guitars sound different? I’m not gonna say pickups are the only thing as different potentiometers and capacitors effect the tonality too, but on an electric guitar, the difference between woods and shapes (solid, semi, and hollow is a different story) is negligible and honestly stupid to bring up. Going back to what the first commenter here said, he’s choosing his favorite shape rather then the sound from this particular demo as either can be set up with the same electronics and hardware to sound nearly identical, difference may be there but will be unnoticeable to anyone not actively feeling the guitar body against theirs. TLDR: guitars DO sound different, but not for the reason you’d think or that Paul Reed Smith wants you to think lmao

Just ordered my 70’s Gibson Explorer today, so excited!

I would prefer both to be honest

I've always played Explorers (occasionally a Mockingbird). But if I ever were to buy another guitar, it definitely would be a V of some sort.

Both are my favourite.

It’s just the amp settings or how the V is eq’d. Switch the cables of the 2 guitars and the Explorer would sound thin, as well. The V’s amp (or modeler) just needs some mid added to bring it out so it cuts through better. A sound like it’s got here would get buried in a full mix. Sounds like any mid control on the amp is turned to 0 and the bass and treble are both at 10. This tune definitely kicks ass! I wanna hear more of it & more like it.

V’s are more comfortable to play while standing up and it has an amazing design, so it’s a V for me

Great video! That quick harmony solo was real cool… is there more? The V’s tone could use a bit more mid - it’s all bass & treble and would easily get buried in the mix of a complete song but it still sounds real good.
