This is not a dream. I was born here in Shenzhen and spent most of my life before adulthood here. This is truely a lively city with visible progressions over years. Throughout the video you may have spotted multiple builidings under construction, that's the typical Shenzhen landscape: in some fast developing areas, like Nanshan District, construction sites can be seen everywhere. Within five years or so, skyscrapers will emerge from these sites. This speed of construction earned the fame "Shenzhen Speed" for the city. Apart from that, Shenzhen also has one of the hightest vegetation coverage rate amongst the Chinese cities. Walk out of a typical residence area and you can find a community park within 1km. Overall, it is hard to imagine how a megacity of the future can emerge out of a fishing village over only one generation of people, and the effort behind my parent's generation. Come and see it yourself if you have the money and time.

I am a Chinese who is actually from this city. Thank you for your niceness. However, I would like to point out that ShenZhen is a relatively very young city, it was a small fishing village some 40 years ago as a part of the Baoan county. It is so much easier to make a city look modern and fancy if it just started developing late or from scratch. On the other hand, London and Paris have over two thousand years history. They can not just build those skyscrapers and modern infrastructure without considering keeping their cultural and historical values. They are all good, just in different ways.

India would take centuries to reach this level. But, pleople watch these sci fi videos of few cities and think entire china is like this. It's not true. China is still a developing country. This is a small part of china. Most of china is still poor and lacks infrastructure.

Shenzhen is simply breath-taking, modern city, the infrastructure is truly exceptional

Shenzhen is a city in Southeast China, part of the Pearl River delta megalopolis, with Hong Kong, Macao, and Guangzhou. Shenzhen is known as China's Silicon Valley, because a lot of technological companies are located there. Most of the population are employees of these companies, who came from other parts of China for work. Hence Shenzhen does not have a local accent.

Untrue, Shenzhen is the least "Cantonese" city in the Pearl River Delta, and the official language is Mandarin. If there is a city where its official language is Cantonese, that city is Hong Kong. @@CN_Walking

The huge scale of the city is felt, and at the same time there is no feeling of crowding The city does not crush you with its skyscrapers...The architecture is very pleasant and diverse, lots of greenery. Man, these places look from other world. Incredible, beautiful.

Notice the bus engine noise? Not a gas engine...Electric. Also I was playing spot the green plate on the cars. All the taxis are electric too...all contributing to the much improved air quality over the years. Love all the greenery, Shenzhen is designed to be a SPONGE city. In heavy rain, all the landscaping and natural ground are supposed to help absorb the water instead of just repelling it as hard surfaces do. Last I was there it was a small fishing village! I hope to visit again soon.

My Chinese hometown! The first city in China I lived in, met the love of my life in.. and then amazing HongKong just across the water. Best years of my life in that awesome, amazing city. Its both an amazing metropolis and yet I learned of little places and areas that were just as wonderful.

Wow. Cool video. I took a bus from Humen to Shenzhen to the Dafen Oil Painting Village. Stayed a couple days. Usually, I go through customs at the Shenzhen/Hong Kong border and then on to Humen.

In the 1990's, China sent city planners and administrators to Singapore to study how to plan and run major urban areas. Today, China's has some amazing infrastructure and beautiful clean cities thanks to the encouragement of former Singapore Primer Minster Lee Kuan Yew and his meritocracy form of governance.

if you consider those beton jungles futuristic , you have no idea what this word means. This style of the anthill is a real catastrofy. You are walking among beton rocks feeling like you are an ant, an insect. You are among millions of the other insects , feeling alone , disparate.

In democratic countries people can own land. In communist China, the state owns the entire land of China. So in China forced evictions are common practice to make room for development.

@@ComradeNationalist india is a multi racial and multi ethnic state. Authoritarian government will not be able to control such a diverse state and there is a large muslim population which is always used as a vote bank. So it's practically impossible in India

@@saptarsi7868 bro I am not Indian, just telling what i know, There's no religion in China on paper, but rough 40% population is Buddhist and xi jinping himself is a Buddhist. The rest population is aheist, because of the communist party coz communism don't follow any religion , not because of diversities or equal treatment, because of them to remain in power forever. Well That development isn't possible in India yet coz there are a billion people and different parties which brainwash different people as I guess, Regards.
