Hi, British history pedant here. Britain's army isn't royal. We had a civil war where the army sided against the king so it swears loyalty to the king, but is deployed and used by Parliament, thus, British Army rather than Royal army. It has units in it with the designation of 'Royal' such as the Royal Engineers, but the organisation as a whole is not 'Royal.' Its just a title handed out when its felt a unit deserves it

I heard recently that Gavin did the slow-mo in some movie. Like, not "The rise of garboman", a _real_ movie. I forget what it was, but it was a real movie credit because he's a professional Cinematographer and a some hollywood director decided that they needed his professional expertise. And all I could think to myself was "Damn, he's really gone up in the world." Edit: Apparantly he worked on hot-fuzz and the Judge Dredd movie.

"It's sucking the air in" Actually it's not, Dan is far more correct at 3:05, saying it's like the entire atmosphere is the chamber for an air cannon.

I love how the best part of these video's isn't even the slomo. It's everything in between.

Dan and Gav, you should put a small fan in the vacuum chamber with the foil - I love the way the gold leaf flutters as the air is evacuated from the chamber and then freezes once it achieves vacuum. 4:56

I remember when these guys started with a "slow motion" camera back in the day that barely even qualified as slow motion, and now look at them! The best cameras AND robot arms, and also quickly approaching 15 MILLION subscribers! 😂

The chamber isn't sucking the air in. You were right Dan, the atmosphere literally is the pressure chamber for the air cannon.

Just came from the original balloon video again. I can't believe sometimes how far these guys have come the last 12 plus years. I'm happy to say I found them early, and it has been wonderful watching through the years. Much love from America guys!
