@The SLow Mo Guys I would love to see the CD done again in slow motion with 2 CDs in the Microwave staked on top of each other like pancakes. About 20 years ago I had a job where no one at the company liked the microwave and we had an abundant of old and or dead CD-r disks around. I found that stacking 1 on top of another one that the little arcs and plasma things would actually levitate the CD that was on top... This would be so cool to see again, especially done by you guys. It will never stop being hilarious to me with how much your channel has grown, with all the specialized, expensive equipment and your own warehouse to film in, that it's still just some boys messing around like teenagers. Blowing up eggs, jumping on trampolines and putting Mentos in Coke. You're one of the few channels that's still retained its original feeling since day 1. The scope doesn't need to unreasonably expand forever for you two to still be endlessly entertaining. Please never change.

Fun fact: That 12cm wavelength is what causes your food to heat up unevenly. Microwaves transfer more energy at the peak of their wavelength (every 12cm). This is why microwaves have a rotating table. Though there always seem to be parts that get less heat energy

It's also why they direct the magnetron at a metal fan. The fan reflects microwaves into the cooking chamber but because it is rotating the waves are scattered helping to prevent hot spots. The fan also doubles as an actual fan cooling the magnetron and rest of the electronics.
@psirvent8

@@Whatsinanameanyway13Modern microwaves don't have the metal fan anymore, at least here in Europe. The only one that I had come across so far that had one was a quite bulky brown unit likely from the early 80s. I know from having disassembled so many of them... Yet there are still schematics on the internet that show the waveguide and metal fan even though it's no longer part of new designs as far as real life microwaves go.
