Thank You Brother
Haha, this video gave me some nice flashbacks to basically every time I meet a friend to make a beat together. Me doing all the adjustments (he doesn't have an MPC, so has no clue how to operate it); both of us being a bit annoyed of the whole setup process... It's totally fine when doing that alone, introvertedly, somehow even enjoying the process, but when having to justify it in front of someone else who's just waiting for the jam... Well :D

That must have been startling lol
Work injury a few years ago left me unable to play guitar, after 22 years of playing (self taught)... after suffering for a couple years through not being able to just fkn jam out, I bought a 2nd hand OP-1 and after an hour, couldn't believe the kind of tracks I was putting down, no previous keys/synth/drum machine experience This prompted me to delve a bit deeper and subsequently purchase an MPC One... this time, however, after an hour I was still just sat in front of it too scared to push a button, thinking to myself _"Well.. this was an expensive mistake!"_ Videos like these are quickly proving *invaluable* - my sincerest gratitude! Much love - London UK ❤🍻

This was a good idea for a video! Next time maybe let the dude record his guitar riff right into the MPC and then show him the plugins and how to play them. Or just try to chop a sample in a couple of ways - aka how many different dishes you can make from the same stuff 😁

He asked a real question in the first few minutes > " Who made This sounds ", talking 'bout Splice and others like those. Its akward imo 'cause it's cool and fast to make a decent beat that sound like a beat, BUT in the same time the " Templates " are so ready to go that they seems to Drive you maybe too much. Makes me think about some LEGO with big pieces that are meant to be structured in a way that you better follow ( even if you are " free " to do what ever you want with it )

I don’t know wether to buy an Mpc one or maschine plus. I really want to be non computer dependent. I’m more used than maschine due to playing around with mk3 a couple times, but mpc one is much cheaper than the plus, but I’ll be learning a whole new interface. What do people think?

@@LiamKillen what would you think the learning curve is like for a complete newb to mpc but who has previous experience on Maschine mk3? If it wasn’t for the price difference I’d choose the Maschine plus but the mpc looks so sick. Just worrying about being back to step one with learning a new interface and way of working. I'm having a lot of trouble recording external synthesizers through midi. Have you developed a solid workflow for it? It seems like the only way I can build a track with this method is by writing midi, then recording the midi sequence to an audio track. Then I have to use the audio track in my pattern instead of the midi so I can write another midi layer. I just wish I could preserve midi patterns in case I'd like to edit them later on.

I’d just like everyone to know that you can buy an MPD218 alongside with Logic Pro’s Drum Machine Designer and do everting you see here. Only difference is you don’t have that small 7inch screen, you use your Mac’s screen instead. You can chop, drum,, fade, pitch, velocity, volume, attack etc. don’t get me wrong MPC’s are beautiful pieces of equipment but I can’t justify the price specially if my Mac is capable of all this, it’s just a matter of learning and time.
