This is what shooting sport is about. Having a laugh and smashing clays with your mates no matter what the weather is. Then go have a dram of whiskey and be booking the next outing with a grin on your face. ☺️
A gun expert was once asked what's the most important thing about a firearm. He answered ' when you pull the trigger it goes bang'
Just goes to show you---a 26" barreled SxS will work on many targets in the right hands. Great video !!!!!
Ed Solomons kills me. Love these videos with him.
"I'm less repulsed than I was last time" Classic .... 🤣

The stock though! 😍
Personally I would like to see what if any difference there is for both shooters if they compare a good but cheaper gun at say £800 or so against one of the top guns. What do you actually gain apart from nicer wood etc? How much better is the trigger, balance etc?
I have to say if ever i needed a shooting lesson i would definitely try to get one of Ed as he's not big headed and i like the way he help's you.
Absolutely love these videos. Loads of fun!
Another class vid by JC, Sasha and Ace Solomons! Great work guys! That K80 though 🤤

You know, beauty is such a subjective thing Ken. The technical excellence of a Kreighoff is without dispute. However, personally I find them as ugly as sin. As with most things German, superbly engineered, but always a case of substance over style. Certainly, no one of Italian origin was involved in the design of a Kreighoff. To be clear, I'm not saying you're wrong, just have a view different to mine. For me it's a black-action Perazzi all day long. Safe shooting mate.
Excellent rapport between you, gentlemen. The SxS looks like a Winchester Model 21, including the irritatingly narrow gap between the barrels and the face. However, it is true that this SxS design most closely mimics a dedicated sporting clays O/U. Perry Pappous, SoCal, USA
I’d take the side x side any day. I love them.
Site by side double barrels are some of my favorite looking guns
Love these vids with Ed. Keepm comin!
I love the funky look of that SxS, it looks like the 500 Nitro Express rifle with that raised rib. Very good video chaps
Fantastic, one all now , can't wait for the rematch. Those Classic Doubles were fantastic guns when they came out and still look like they can do the business.
That SxS would be considerably spendier over here. Looks quite nice, but I'd much rather have 30" on it, which would let the muzzle end take up less space in the sky.
A 201 in the states would go for 2,500 to 3,000 USD. Shame we can't get decent SxS and O/U here for $300-400. Only option we have is the Stoeger.
I could watch you two for hours! It’s so much fun 😂
You guys are just the best a can’t put ma phone down when you two are in town just excellent. All the very best 👍🏻🏴👍🏻🏴👍🏻🏴
I went shooting sporting clays years ago in Montana; talking to the Ol' Timer who owned the place about how nice the shotgun I borrowed from him shot, he told me "It's the Indian, not the arrow". I learned later in the day he shoots with Team Krieghoff, so that really upped the compliment! In the right hands, as long as it goes 'boom', it's a killer!
Bloody cracking vid! I have a lesson booked with Abbey Ling in a few weeks to sort out my gaparooney which really does need a look at. BTW that's a groover of a side by side with a nice broad forend I have an old Spanish SXS boxlock with a forend which is as thin as a sardine, its good fun to shoot but a leap of faith to have a stab at clays but fun anyway. Funny enough it does well on the rabbit! Anyway, great to see Ed again he is a real spark. Nice vid lads it's a great informative 20 odd mins of which I love to see and look forward too... Good egg
I wish we had inexpensive side by sides here, that is beautiful!
Great job John and having Ed S again is superior two thumbs up
Great Tutorial Johnny and Ed Every time out I get knowledge from watching. But I have a question I've owned a side x side but do companies make a left handed one one?
Not bad for the money at all. I've been clay shooting a couple of times at a new ground a club member recommended, and have just got into the UO guns. First was a fibre optic bead which was pretty distracting, but quick to get used to. Hit 80% of the birds. Today it was a Browning with a much nicer sight picture and black steel bead, but I didn't do too well on double clays. Have to admit, I thought moving from a SxS to UO would be simple but it's quite a learning curve. One that I'm learning to love.
I have to say that this is one of the most fun videos I've seen!
Usual quality production - brilliant production. Would love to go on a ahoot sometime Jonny. Keep it up 👍👍
That Blackthorne is looking amazing Jonny!
Classic Doubles 201 S/S, Winchester 23 predecessor, I remember they were expensive new, marketed as the S/S shoots like an O/U.
I’ve shot a SxS with short barrels and it’s a totally different feel. I tend to over swing with it and get jerky with the trigger. Difficult to say the least.
Had a mouthful of baked beans when ed came out with the human faeces joke!!funny. Nice video again 👍.

Ed is a Savage 😂 oh man do i want a couple of lessons with him 😄
The Classic Double was using the same frame as the Parker Reproduction.
...not the highest rib I've seen on a SxS... but unusually high, nevertheless... and I just noticed it had a mid bead too! :-D
Congratulations for the channel !!

This Thursday and the Thursday after
So the first thing that mattets most is the shooter of thegun and not just the gun and its price...the shooter and the fit of the stock are the most important factors from my perspective.
What models are those sunglasses? They look great
I would love to get my hands on one of those classic doubles 201s but they seem very thin on the ground and more expensive than that £250 price tag, are they worth the extra as I keep seeing them sold at £500-700 and for that I am in the low end of the vintage market for some nicer old English hand made stuff? Just a guy who's fallen in love with side by side shooting! 😂😂

Unfortunately you might be in for £800-1000 for a nice example but luckily this one was overlooked in the back of holts auctioneers
Ed, the burning question here is whether it shot like it's Shop Smart's top of the line?
Jolly good show . . .
What’s the brand of that side by side, I actually want one
Just having a little fun 👍
Army of Darkness 🤭 Good movie, have to rewatch it!
What was the make and model of the SxS?
Proves it is the man not the gun, within reason, you don't need 32" barrels and the latest and greatest, as long as the gun is functional, safe and fits. My English s/s are 100yrs old and perfect shooting condition, my Win 101 PG LWT 27" Winchoke has been re-built new pins & spring, will see me out. Lots of good buys out there to get into shooting without breaking the bank, look for Browning/Miroku/Beretta etc.
That SxS is actually quite nice, i'd like that
Whats is the glasses that you have guys ? Nice video btw :)
Was this shot at Grimsthorpe?
Whats the name of the cheap side by side shot gun ?
Can someone explain me why some people use the sight in the middle of the barrel?

A Quick Look at Mid-Beads kzread.info/dash/bejne/hIRmk7OFgaTJnps.html
I really don’t care for side by sides. The one shown is a beauty, and would fetch well over the price you’ve listed. In fact people tend to hold on to these guns and you just don’t see many of this quality for anywhere the price listed. In Canada, Many have 30” barrels, no ribs, and are just HEAVY.

That’s the beauty of gun auctions, it worth twice what I paid in a retail place. But it was lurking in a back corner of holts and nobody was confident enough to go for it clearly (other than me!)
What flat cap is he wearing?
This is my “boom stick!”
Nothing wrong with a winchester 23/cd 201 great old guns, kodensha plant can't go wrong really, once you get to a certain level in gun making quality you can pay all you want you really don't get a measureable advantage outside of gunfitting
Are you shooting # 6 shot at clays ? We can't shoot anything larger than a # 7 1/2

@@tgsoutdoors Yes, except for the really bad glossy stock finish (bad for a Parker, at least).
As long as it's a single trigger, ejector with a fibre optic bead and is compatile with modern chokes I personally couldn't care less tbh.
