    Great to see some more content on PnP search coming out. I would love to see more on customizing the search results like cards with custom managed properties in the slots that not exist and make them pretty with CSS. 😊 Thanks!

    Seconding this! Non-IT professional here and except for the CSS (though I’m not opposed to learning about it) this is exactly the topic I’ve been searching for.

    You can show any field you'd like as long as you've mapped the list/library column to a managed property, and configure PnP Modern Search to show that managed property (i.e. your mobilephone field)

    Hi Steve, Is it possible to rearrange the components in card layout? For eg: i need to move location tag to bottom right corner. Also i wish to completely remove the upper part of the card(where file icon nd preview images are shown) . When i removed the icon nd preview the space still remained the same

    Great question, and one I get asked a lot. The card layout is hard-coded to have a certain "look" to it. There are specific locations within that card where you can place data. While you can move data around from field to field, you can't move the fields themselves to other locations in the card. It's possible to use CSS to relocate fields, but that's not a great option. Using a custom template would be the best way, creating the HTML and CSS yourself to make a unique card layout.

    @stevecorey365 Thank you for your reply, I am new to this pnp and coding . Here custom template means , using spfx we need to create new template and deploy? Have you done any video on that? So that I can refer.

    @@shinshae7882 No, PnP Modern Search custom templates are just text files with Handlebars markup. You can extend the whole product with SPFx, but that's not needed just for a custom template. I don't have custom templates covered extensively, but I do have some template customization in my PnP playlist.

    There's probably something about your filter that's excluding results. I'd start there.

    Thank you very much! :) Currently, I'm trying to filter the people results to show only those who have started in the last 3 months. This way, they can receive a warm welcome on the landing page. Do you have an idea how the search query would look like to accomplish this? Greeting, Tobias

    Unfortunately you can't filter like this with a date range. What I've done in the past is just sort the results by hire date (mapped to a managed prop, of course). Show the newest at the top, and limit it to 10-15 records depending on how fast your organization hires new staff.

    @@stevecorey365 In my tenant SPS-Hiredate is mapped to RefinableDate01, so this query should be a pretty close approx , I guess : RefinableDate01 > {Today -91}

    great video.. is there a way to filter out disabled users or user who don't have managers name against their profiles. Thanks

  • @stevecorey365

    @stevecorey365

    11 ай бұрын

    Thanks so much! You can filter disabled users by modifying the KQL to target the SPS-HideFromAddressLists managed property. Something like "-SPS-HideFromAddressLists:1", maybe? The minus sign in front means those results should be excluded. The manager part of your question is much more difficult. If the data isn't there in the property, there's no way to filter based on KQL. You'd have to solve this a different way such as inside the template using Handlebars markup.

    Hi Steve, is there a way to search a specific site or document library in search results. For example I am using a content type hub choice column in Search filter webpart but it shows all the choices from all the sites across SharePoint where that column is being used. I would only like to see the choices which were defined for the particular site or library for that column which is inherited from Content type hub. Thanks in advance.

    No problem! You can use the Path managed property to limit results to a particular site or library. I'd recommend something like this in your query: Path:yoursite.sharepoint.com/sites/yourcustomsite/library*
