I tried the beginner version of this. I got 11001 of the 11687 cities by knowing like 10 real ones and making up the rest. Half of the rest were some random european cities like hanover and the other half was completely made up, making things that sounded like cities from words like "middle", "river", or "george".

The fact that you haven’t even touched the west side of the country yet and got probably 10 times more than I would get if I tried this is insane. Your brain is basically the US map. Excited for part 2.

The reason Virginia is so hard is because a quirk in the state constitution. There are almost no incorporated cities in the state outside the few dozen independent cities which are separate from the counties. There are a few cities with mayor's like Vienna in the NoVA area, but most places you mentioned are really just census-designated places with no autonomy whatsoever from Fairfax County.

There's a fun quiz (100K+ coverage challenge) where you have to *minimize* the number of circles to cover all 100K US cities. Lots of clever planning and strategizing on that map!

Would be a cool idea of trying to do this on beginner with the lowest number of city names I.e take advantage of multiple city names and not overlapping circles.

It'd be interesting to play this game by not looking at the map. Just type every city name you can remember until the time is up and see what the map looks like at the end.

⁠@@pissgaming1 i wish that they don't automatically give you place name that you don't intend to type too, it kinda screw the numbers and it's kinda annoying to have to type the city name a few times. They should only give you the city when you press enter

Yeah I am pretty sure that the Los Angeles urban area is like the size or Belgium or atleast very close. I once checked on Google Maps and I think it was possible to drive for like 120 km in a straight line without leaving the city.

You should try the "All US Places Closest Coverage". On expert mode, instead of a 10 mile radius, it reveals the 10 closest cities to the one you name.

Impressive! It’s so hard to think in the moment. You can type all capitals and major cities in Europe for some easy ones.

The Dutch version of this quiz has a expert radius of only 2,5 km. The country might be small but you l need to typ in basically every town if you want to finish the quiz.

Few quick tips for the Columbus OH area next time, try New Albany, Delaware, Groveport, Canal Winchester, Grove City, Upper Arlington, Lancaster, Pickerington, Renyoldsburg, Easton (this one might not work its techicnally a neighborhood), Lithopolis Some other misc Ohio places that idk if they’re 1K or above Bellbrook, moraine, oakwood, yellow springs, Clayton, union, Shiloh

A lot of the places on the Mississippi River between Baton Rouge and New Orleans aren't incorporated. There's Gonzales, but that's about it. There's places like Convent, Vacherie, Laplace, Boutte, and Luling, but I don't know if any of those count. Also, there's an Iowa (EYE-oh-way) in Louisiana, it's by Lake Charles, that's where that came from
