What you said about how the Expert heartside feels so final and the Grandmaster will be treated more as a extra world, is so great and I feel the same way...I love the decision that the folks that made SJ did this way so that more people will have the feeling of closure without necessarily needing the insane skill required to beat GM entirely
Updated prediction after watching the episode: 24 hours, good luck!

I feel like he would not know that, at least not for sure. I would avoid mentioning things like that. Chris is (in my opinion understandably) pretty strict with even slightly spoilery stuff like this.

starfruit supernovae is so good. i loved all the stylegrounds in it!
A tip for not getting extra deaths from loading your savestate. There’s an option you can turn on to load the savesate every time you die. If you go into keyboard config, there’s an option to bind a button that turns that option on and off. So what you can do is create a savestate, use your button to turn it on, and then once you’re done playing from that savestate just press it again. Also I said keyboard config because you won’t need to press the button very often. It would be a good idea to just bind it to your keyboard and reach over when you want to press it.
I finally just beat the EHS after all this time, and what an experience. Loved watching your hypnagogia ego-check - same exact thing happened to me. Great playing!
EHS is an absolute banger. Very well could be my favorite map in the whole collab. I like what you said about it being a sort of finale and then GM being extra an addition to that 1:03:10 The reason you couldn't dash up right away here is that there is a minimum amount of time you need to fly in a red bubble before you can dash out of it 1:04:25 Very excited to see what kind of stuff you create. Are you planning on getting playtesting from other people? Definitely very useful 1:17:50 Man's hands are buff now :) 1:35:10 I think the slightly easier way to do this beginning is actually bubbling to the right and then doing a reverse super 1:52:50 While "delayed ultra" is pretty accurate for what you're talking about, I'll just note that this term is used for another tech. Maybe "late ultra" could also work? Obviously use whatever you want. We all like high jumps after all :)

cool I'm not the only one making a whole list of little comments across the video this time :). I write everything down in a separate text editor then post it when I'm done. This way it saves it even if I close the tab, and nobody gets to see the unfinished comment. I can write down a note about something, and if it gets resolved later in the video, just delete it and it's like the note never existed at all.

Super awesome playing!! You got through some very tough flags here - I really struggled on 24 and 15 especially. Your commentary when looking through the watchtowers and trying to figure out the rooms is immensely entertaining - love the theo chair bit, I didn't notice that on my playthrough! 1:25 I see what you're saying but also rest assured that we tried to make the grandmaster finale just as climactic :)
One of my most anticipated mods is whatever your mod will be called.
it's finally time for ehs! quite possibly one of the most stellar experiences in any game i've ever had was beating this in one 10 hour sitting (with short breaks i'm not THAT unhinged) i also guess it'll take 10 hours purely because that matches my casual time!
1:47:00 the numbers 3.621 is a joke about the site E621. Its uh , a 'not for kids' site for furries

27:13 yep, it'll count as two deaths if you die then load separately. but if you turn on the option "auto load state on death" in speedrun tool options, then when you die with a save state set, you will automatically load state and it will only count as one death. i normally set a separate bind on my keyboard or controller to toggle "auto load state on death" so i can go back and forth between having it on so that my deaths don't get double counted, and having it off so i can still go back to the beginning of the room to look at the bino while my save state is still set. edit: oops just refreshed the page and saw someone else commented the same thing
1:46:56 Oh Ohhh Uh If you know you know Uh I'mma head out now
Hey dude, I've been following the series for a while now, but have never commented. But considering that I've really been looking forward to this episode, and it's a grand finale of sorts, I'll make a prediction. I predict 14 hours for the heartside. Good luck on the rest of the map!
1:53:23 This room is actually what finally moved me into downloading the speedrun tools mod and to start using savestates
Didnt expect this so soon! Christmas came early! Im guessing 12 hours for the heartside.

New guess after seeing most of the video: 26 hours.
I thought i was going insane with Floating Point and thought it was the hardest screen in my celeste career! Glad you had the same thoughts :D My time overall was 17 hours, so i would guess 20 hours. Good luck to you :)
for the liftboosted dash in the capor cavortion flag, you don't get the boost if you wait until it stops. this is because the zipper is at a slight diagonal.
@shayne3005
11 ай бұрын
It has nothing to do with the angle, it's a bug caused by one of the nodes being placed off-grid. There is a block in Garden of Khu'tara with the same issue but that one isn't at a diagonal
dream spinners are odd, hitbox wise. they are spinners when you are not in dash state, and whenever you dash, a dream block hitbox pops up around them. this pop up behaviour is what allows for wallbounces off of dream spinners.
@theroboman727

@theroboman727

@@globglogabgalabyeast6611 I think you can do an instant hyper (works pretty much like a demohyper), but not a wave dash because wave dashing requires colliding first, but colliding would mean entering the dream block
It took me 22 hours. I'm guessing 20 for you! Good luck!
This is my favorite map of all time congrats on the first half, judging by your current time i'm expecting 25 hours. My completion time was 23 hours but it could have been 18 if i didn't get victimized by a room generally considered easy for 6 hours. hopefully your playthrough will turn out better lmao, you got this!

@@squibster81 yeah everyone says it's easy but i'm so goddamn terrible at this map that it bullied me until the very end Flag 4 took me about two hours (3rd longest, under flag 2 which took me half an hour more), flag 15 took me one hour
Took me 21 hours. I think you are slightly better than me now, so I'm going with 19 hrs 59 mins. Good luck!
I didn't think you'd upload this this quickly! I just didn't pay attention to your uploads qwq Also I also bet 10 hours because someone else I see got 10 hours too Edit: Please yes stream
my guess is 27 hours 18 minutes 28 seconds
I will predict 15 hours.
Maybe I'm being very conservative, but I'm gonna go with a clean average of 1 hour per flag, giving 29 hours total Edit: Hmm, after finishing the video, I still think I might have overestimated, but I'll stick by it considering that all the greens are done and all the reds are remaining. Your time will probably also be affected significantly by how much you use save states. I wasn't really thinking about those when making my guess
I'm gonna guess 20h, but I can see it taking longer
I'm predicting 5-7 hours
Indie gayme chris
the expert heartside took me 10 hours, and i consider myself to be quite good at the game (i have over 4000 hours lol) so my guess is that it'll take you 24 hours
i only recently completed ehs, it took me a week of real-world time and 21 hours of in-game time, and i had a good deal of expert experience and beyond before starting sj expert. im guessing you are going to take longer, at least in in-game time, so 25-30 hours (i checked the end of the video cuz i dont have time to watch, i think its more likely that i underestimated than overestimated cuz the second half has all the reds and is all around way harder)
this is my prediction: 20 hours
I predict 23 hours.
I'm guessing fifteen to twenty-five hours. I took ~22.5 hours.
Chris if you haven't got to flag 10 dont read this comment I will say for my comment on last video of "spoiler" stuff (the suggestion for making the video in 2 part but not 3) is that the transition between f11 and f10 is the place where i dont want you to miss or cut in a video. (I assume you already got there right now), also most people i know agrees that the second half is obviously more difficult than the first half (maybe except f15). the music also progresses hard on f14 which is the start of the second half.

Just did f11 & f10! I agree, the transition was dope.
Man what… I did this section of the heartside in 4-5 hours but I literally took 3x as much time on psychokinetic as you… guess I just suck at dream jump spam
@squibster81
11 ай бұрын
That is really funny lol. This section took me 8 hours but Psychokinetic took me 1:20:00. I found it really easy compared to all the other red expert maps (except fortress fall).
I predict 25 hours. For me the map took 19 hours, and I have 650 hours in the game.
My guess is 25h
i guess 14 hrs
20 hours would be very realistic imo Update after watching this vid: im going to stay at the 20 hours
Many people say EHS is like a high S tier map, same for the music. I feel like the music and map are both like high A tier. Not sure why. About grandmaster lobby being like extra stuff and this being the normal finale, I don't feel like that. EHS doesn't feel like a true finale to me because of that, can't say the same about GMHS though. 15:52 Big famous last words moment. 51:34 Use clear state binding so that load state will do nothing? 51:49 So, this bottom traffic block is awkward for multiple reasons. 1. It accelerates instantly, no other traffic blocks do that. 2. I'm pretty sure the intended way to get to the spring on the right from it is the double block boost way with letting go and right dashing. The problem is that getting to that point where you grab the side is awkwardly precise, it can be less precise if you're creative about how you do it though. 3. So imagine that when it moves, it goes at around 4 pixels per frame. When you let go and dash, on both occasions 4 pixels per frame is appended to your speed. But when the block is moving, right before it stops, it only needs to move two pixels to the right to be at its end point, so it moves only two pixels per frame on that last frame. The problem is that if the block pushes you during that 2 px movement, after that the block boosts you get are as if the block only ever moved 2 px/f. So you have to ungrab before the block stops moving or else you won't get the required 4 px/f block boosts. None of the other blocks are like this. Sorry for the rant lol, I think this is the worst flag in the map. 55:42 Mostly correct, but the platform stopping its movement is not at all relevant to how to get a multiboost. Maps just tend to not add unnecessary motion to things after the blocks served their purpose. Cool, I think I'd watch if you livestream. Would be nice if you announce when you're going to do it though, so people who want to be there including me don't miss it. 1:09:37 No clearly this means that road to gehenna is just a big Celeste Strawberry Jam reference!! 1:10:27 Nice slowdown, I've done the same a couple times. You can also smoothly zoom in to the right spot if you do it in the middle of a clip. 1:32:18 lol 1:33:52 lol 1:37:30 I think I heard it's straight up a configuration option that mappers can choose without having to install any special code for the map 1:38:44 Someone else said the easier way of doing the start here. But a third way is to go left, down dash, jump right and mid air super before the bubble respawns. 1:57:49 Did you notice the music change? Oh yeah someone mentioned if you're gonna get playtesting for your map. I'd be up for that, you could find me on the celeste discord with the same name if you want me to playtest at some point. Personal playing update: I'm finished with strawberry jam and talos principle. Now I'm working on beating maps on the easier side of the list of hardest celeste maps that exist. Strawberry jam has three maps on it, but I've beaten three other ones now. Latest one was a map called vivid abyss and it was amazing.
