    I just bought my first GS! A 2014 R1200gs - its being delivered sometime this week. I test rode one back in December and was blown away! After the test rides I have done on different bikes the GS is the only one that I could not stop thinking about for months. So had to get one. Would love to test ride the 1300 soon!

    Was at my BMW dealer yesterday and saw the new 13GS Trophy. I agree- much better looking in person. But at 70, I just bought 2 RE's for much less than 1 BMW. Since my dealer sells both, he's making money on service and accessories. Everybody is happy. Now get out there and practice. Each bike is a little different. You must practice with each bike. 👍👍5🏍🙋‍♂️

    Brilliant! I’ll be riding one in May in Baden-Württemberg, 🇩🇪 . A friend and I will rent and do four days. The R 1300 GS was actually not my first choice; the F 900 XR was not available. I’m assured by the rental firm that the ride height adjustment will make the bike 🏍️ compatible with my 5’9” height and 32” inseam. I have some experience on older GS models as well as one afternoon on an RT (love those) so I’m not too worried. I am curious, though, as to the approximate height of the salesperson featured in this video. Even at lowest height setting, he was on his sneaker toes.

    Test rode one, about an hour, twisties and highway, lovely bike a d i liked the adaptive ride height. But i ended up buying a 2023 1250gs trophy edition and love it. Having owned a 2019gs exclusive ive done plenty of gs miles. Im a larger guy and found the 1300 cramped a little compared to the 1250gs ,the feeling of being on top of the bike rather than in the bije on the 1250. I feel youll really enjoy the quicker handling of the 1300, and extra power. For me , the 1250gs has enough ,ill never push the bikes limits due to my own. Cheers m8 and love you're vids, keep it up😊

    Stupid question: what the purpose of the center stand? I’ve only ever ridden sport bikes, and have never used a center stand. It just for maintenance and for working on your bike…similar to using a rear stand and spools on a sport bike?

  • @MotoJitsu

    @MotoJitsu

    3 ай бұрын

    A motorcycle center-stand is intended primarily for maintenance work, not for routine parking of a bike. It allows you to get one (or both) of the wheels off the ground to enable chain maintenance or removing one or both of the wheels.

    Looks good, but having sit on both, (rode the 1250 many many times, not the 1300 yet)i can say I prefer the 1250gs, the new one feels to light to me, to narrow, the seat is firmer, and, I prefer the front light of the older one to, makes it "typical Gs" to my eyes. I like the new design, but not for me, not right now anyway. Especially the seat, i love the plush seat of the 1250, and I feel like you are more into the bike than on the 2024, which felt to me as more "on the bike". Personnel taste..

Awesome bike, but midway through the ride, I tried to move back in the seat to feel more settled, then I got a warning message saying “adaptive ride height” and the load compensation (or something) had a fault and to take it to the dealer to be fixed. After that, the ride height was limited to the low position.

    This is a bike that attracts the big spenders! This is the opposite end of the spectrum from the Royal Enfield crowd. GS guys want everything “just so” on the bike,and they’re willing to pay whatever that takes! 👍 There is nothing that BMW can put on the bike that their buyers aren’t willing to pay for. So BMW happily complies,making each new model more and more farkled out and expensive! I’m ABSOLUTELY not trying to be negative,just observing! I really like this new 1300. It’s actually the first big GS they’ve made that I’ve actually liked. I was never a fan of the old headlight style.
