EXPEDITION PANAMA Surf Trip Vlog Ep.66

Ойын-сауық

Our Panama surf trip becomes an expedition as we go searching for surf in West Panama. We get as far south as you can drive, marking the turnaround point in our California to Panama overland trip after 15,000 miles and more than a year of travel. Now there's nowhere to go, but up!

    Also, any idea how much it cost to drive 15k miles? I’m trying to do this trip in an 80s diesel with a veggie oil conversion. The idea is to collect fuel along the way. If you guys are in the California it’d be rad to hear about it in person. Thanks again for all the effort you guys put into sharing your story.

    Just found you channel. The bit where you made your Mrs drive really far only to not find any waves made me laugh. I've been driving my wife mad with the exact same trick for years. Will have to show her this to prove I'm not the only one doing it. Keep up the good videos. I've just subscribed. 😁

    Haha. Welcome! The show is pretty much about us driving around backroads, not finding waves, then doing whatever cool adventure she wanted to do in the first place. 😉 It's a good reminder of how much she puts up with.

    Hey lieve Noraly in Baja California!!! 😉😴❣️🙏🌞🌷

    I liked that Mini Super Siny. Panama is a truly magical place. One of my fondest memories was the day we started with a swim in the Pacific, lunch on the mountain tops, and then dinner on the Caribbean. Of course, we cheated having flown in, rented a car, and stayed in hotels, so not as close to the land as you guys. We liked what we saw and tried to stay away from Panama City as much as possible. Neat Place. Where are you now?

    playa morrillo is one of the main places i very much want to go surf sometime soon, everytime i see it on video it just reinforces this inclination....too bad you didnt catch corto on a good day... out of all the waves in that area 411 looks like it has the most potential, but you never know till you see it in person... what did you think of the setups in cambutal? my friend bought some land down there.... ill have to visit sometime...

  • @TheTravelingTogetherJournal

    Super fun area to explore! Cambutal had a lot of potential and with such good swell exposure I'm sure there are good waves out there going unridden. We just didn't spend enough time in the area to watch the different beaches on different tides or swell directions.

    Yeah. I would have liked to give Santa Catalina another try, but the camping situation wasn't ideal for us and its not the cheapest place to stay (compared to what we had gotten used to) But I was really stoked to get the Caribbean as good as we did during their slow season.

    What do you do with your dog while you are surfing or when the two of you are doing something together that Jager cant be with you? I have traveled to 22 countries in Balkans and eastern Europe with my dog but was staying at airbnb's that allowed dogs. Looking to do a trip similar to your starting end of Oct if things get better with Covid. Are you back home now? Where is your truck?

  • @TheTravelingTogetherJournal

    @TheTravelingTogetherJournal

    4 жыл бұрын

    We are back in California and we still have the truck. We still use her for vacations down the Baja Peninsula. Jäger was an easy dog to travel with. We generally left him in or under the truck when we did something he couldn't join us for. We rented dog friendly rooms or air bnbs a few times when we wanted to stay in more populated areas, but needed to leave the dog somewhere for extended periods of time, like when we went white water rafting or on other tours. The main concerns were him getting too hot inside the truck or getting attacked by stray dogs if we left him outside by himself.
