Expectations vs. Reality: Freshman Year at Boston University
As Boston University freshman Will Loggia rounds out his first academic year at BU, he reflects on some of his initial expectations coming into college vs. the reality of his experiences. From classes, dining hall food, dorm rooms, and making new friends during the COVID-19 pandemic, Will covers it all, saying, in the end, his time on campus so far has been a lot better than what he hoped for. "My freshman year has been awesome, despite all of the things that could have made it not awesome," he said. "There have been a lot of things that haven't been what we want this year, but if you don't focus on those things that we really don't have control over and you just try to make the best out of the situation it might not be so bad."

I'm a long time faculty member at BU -- and when I turned to look at this video, I really only wanted to hear a student's perspective. I didn't expect such a professional, balanced, and beautifully shot video. This was both fair and brilliant -- well done! You've got a good career ahead of you.
BU 1. Classes aren't that bad once you get there (everyone will be nervous about the classes in whatever school they go to anyways). 2. Food is very good, 8.8 rating from Nate bc of daily Mac and Cheese 😂 3. West Campus looks nice, good campus feel within a city 4. Campus outside looks pretty good as well 5. Talk to more people to make more friends 6. Sports team isn't that good And a great qupte from Charles R Swindoll, "Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it." Charles R. Swindoll. Make the most out of what you got. Thanks for information Loggia!

what makes you say the sports team isn't good?
I used to run track with Will before he graduated, that man was an absolute machine and one of the best blue devils I've ever known, glad to see he's doing well.
This is a really well done video, as an upcoming freshman I really appreciate this perspective!
Excellent video! I love your use of the drone for a broader view of what it’s like. I’ll be looking up your other videos.
It's very helpful to know about a little part of BU and make some adaptation in campus life. 👍👍
Thanks for taking the time to make this great video.
Looks amazing! Thanks for the video!
my brother goes to BU and after I saw the campus and the programs I have started to work my a** off to go here. for the next few years I hope I meet Bu's expectations and get in. I kinda also just want to annoy my brother every day. 😁
Thanks for this informative video.
I love BU!!! Can’t wait to go there!
Good job Will. West was my home for two years, many years ago, back when COM featured IBM typewritters.

I've been to 5 colleges and BU definitely had the best food. They even had restaurants cater once in a while. Don't know if they still do that.
It's actually very great video, I liked it how can international students contact BU ?
