Courtney G is the breeder that started me off. Right before he passed he tried to give me a female. Just was not prepared. Now getting house and yard ready.

The legendary Michael Ellis World renowned dog trainer,helper/decoy, teacher and breeder of 60+ litters of malinois once said that he's more bothered about how the dog prefoms over the look and that it's to difficult to get it all in one package

26:27 when I see various breeds in Europe, those dogs look almost completely different from the American breeds. For example, the bull terriers in Europe looks like and are working versions of the breed. Looks closer to their ancestors.

This is interesting interview, his start was crazy lol. Sounds like he came a long way. I agree in many areas, especially with the belief in breeding for function over everything. I can make compromise with the breeding to standards, show lines should follow a closer standard for the breed confirmation. But I also believe shownlines should also be functional. I do differ in with getting away from standards, small variations I believe is acceptable like the head size. But I don't want to see all breeds vary like the bullies. Bullies are newer breed, so I don't have an issue with bully community except for the bullies breed low to the ground, and can barely breathe. But what I don't want to see a 50 lb mini Corso or a 200 pounder. There should be some consistency for the standards, functional, but not stray way too far. Colors and head size, can vary but just don't the breed into something to far from their ancestors. Just my 2 cents

Dogs look a certain way because they worked a certain way, form follows function I see a popular corso channel on KZread with a fair few dogs and she's never worked the. dogs in anything to quantify there quality How can u breed working breed dogs and not work them it's pretty silly All form no function IGP/schutzhund, French ringsport, mondioring, PSA, KNPV, k9 street league, American schutzhund All these sports are to measure and quantify a dogs stock, Arne pohlmeyer is a German trainer and breeder of presa canario de la arena I think is the kennel he's a master dog trainer and runs tests called ZWP1 ZWP2 which are breeding and character tests for dogs being considered to breed

@@CharlieTheCaneCorso I agree, some of these people don't even walk their dogs. Just get a male and female and sell puppies. I like how in some places in Europe, they have to qualify in able to breed their dogs. We need something like that here, but that's not going to happen

​@@dug757u think it's bad in usa the UK u can't even register pups brought into the UK from outside countries with the fci coz the UK kennel club duz not recognise the breed

On the subject of genetics and breeding, outcrossing Would a breeder usually have multiple lines on his yard to work on the lines individually and also outcross between lines for them super athlete hybrid vigor dogs?

Some would. Some would concentrate on a family and outcross when needed. Others would keep multiple families and cross them back and forth.

Sure I seen a breed of dog a new breed called a North American mastiff would be interesting to here from a breeder who created a breed recently the ins the outs the good the bad the successes the failure

Got a question for the Corso breeders. Don’t bite my head off. This is my 2nd year. What would you do if one of the pups in your litter ended up being a Tri-Colored. It was said not to breed it, but would you all sell it or keep it?
