That exact part made me change my mind as well. I have a little girl and that gave me chills.

No matter how it turns out, I'm excited to see it. I'm one of those freaks who liked EVERY entry (yes, even Heretic, The Beginning and Dominion). Plus, I'm just happy to see our girl Ellen thriving at 90!

The way mans described cooking was absolutely crazy

I encourage you to rewatch the exorcist 3. Brad Dourif gives one of the best performances in all of horror for that movie. Easily, my favorite in the franchise.

Would be cool to see an exorcism movie where an animal gets possessed. Maybe that would get campy, but I’d pay to see it. Imagine a crocodile twisting and turning all over the ceiling and it lunging towards a victim on the bed.

If it went for an Evil Dead Rise meets Cujo like vibe where it’s a beloved family pet then it could work, play into the fact that this is something that should be loving and protecting you but is instead trying to not only kill but utterly maim you

What makes me excited for the movie is the dynamic between the two movies. David Gordon Green did say that they aren’t going to be bring back Pazuzu (the original demon) but they are back with a new original demon. Personally I think it’s a great idea because we know get to see other demons in the Exorcist universe. What’s good is that he’s not just saying “ignore the last movies” but he said that he loves the movies and I think he wants to bring a new vision to the Exorcist universe. Fun Fact: Behind the scenes, Linda Blair worked with the girls with psychology and how to bring the energy into the characters or being possessed. Fun Fact: The original makeup artist who gave Linda Blair the iconic possessed look did the makeup for the the possessed girls. Either way, I’m going to go into this movie with an open mind and I’m sure they are going to make Friedkin proud.

The Exorcist 3 is the true sequel to the original and in my opinion one of the best sequels ever, if not better than the original.

Yes your right the blue tint with the coldness on the breath is needed in these type of films

I saw an early screening and am so mad they edited out the line “I don’t want to go to hell”! Though they did give us scenes with the bluish atmosphere ;)

The Exorcist, original movie amazing. Probably the best scary movie out there. i'm skeptical about this because how they messed up the Halloween franchise this time I didn't like. I also feel like it's too HD looking, if it had like a more monotone colors I would probably be like yeah looks cool, but no.

The Exorcist Tv series first season is a must watch highly underated very creepy and dark.

The exorcist has people so unable to be objective about it because it was groundbreaking that ppl act like nothing could ever touch it even though watching it these days it may as well be a comedy, but ppl will still act like to this day its the most horrifying movie with a toy head spinning on a doll and puking the slime they use for kids on ytv nowadays.

I heard all the negativity from the test screenings and a hunch tells me it's just pretentious self proclaimed critics because this trailer looks really good. No matter what you do (especially right now if you're David Gordon Greene) people will always bitch about something. Not me this looks good I'm stoked.

The original Exorcist was filmed in Georgetown and Washington DC. A lot of atmosphere.

Evil dead rise and evil dead remake was the best exorcist movies actually even better than original too though original is a classic lol. This seems like the exorcist meets slenderman to me lol bug I liked both of those so that don't mean it won't be good lol.

Just like the original Exorcist, the "scary" part starts after the 1st half of the movie....

Maybe it wasn’t “hitting” you, bcuz you needed to wait for them to pull this cleverly slick move in order to avoid another little mermaid controversy!

I liked the first trailer. I don’t know why people didn’t like it. Didn’t give too much, gave a creepy vibe.

I feel like the "I don't won't to go to hell", is gonna be the best part. Think about it, after the first trailer, everyone was mostly saying it was shit or bland, average, so they decided to put one of the best little parts into the 2nd trailer so people will begin to be more excited and actually start to believe it can be good, which they did succeed in that fact, because, now people are talking more about it, all of the people making videos about it now, are mostly claiming that the "I don't want to go to hell" part is actually good compared to everything else the trailers have shown. I have more hope but not much

I was thinking a lot of the same issues Chris. Don’t forget the re-quel of Terminator with bringing back the original Sarah Connor after so many years. Very formulaic.

I think the blue hue you mentioned is not an artistic choice, but an ambience oriented one. It's said during the movie that the room is cold, even freezing, so the color was meant to reflect that. Not sure why the temperature is not relevant in this one (maybe it is and they are going the opposite way)

Watch the Exorcist III, aka Legion... it's really different...

It never resolves like the original Exorcist, where it ends on a positive note, the evil is gone... Whereas in The Exorcist III, the atmosphere is very bleak, it portrayed the presence of Heaven, Hell, God, Satan, and convinces you that your understanding of this poane of existence is a fallacy at best.... The feel of III is very different...

Exorcist III is the only movie I feel is worth it after the iconic original and even the tv series managed to make it work in present day. This new movie Exorcist Believer just shows how tried they genre has become with how it looks even if two possessed people is something you don’t often see and Ellen Burstyn returning at 90 years old just doesn’t feel right to me even if she’s in the original movie

***SPOILER WARNING**** .....This movie is so WILD & DIFFERENT from what I was expecting to see when I attended the Test Screening Universal held about 14 days ago. The 2 trailers don't really show you the movie (the film is way too graphic for the best scenes to be shown on KZread). You should expect a very deep-set Psychological horror soaked in vulgarity. It is NOTHING like Halloween & the director really makes a comeback with this take on demonic possession. The script is awesome because it makes you think about a lot of things in your own life. And of course having Ellen Burstyn and Linda Blair (Regan) back on screen greatly enhances the experience. It's pretty clear that the next one (DECEIVER) is going to focus on Linda Blair as she will want to get revenge for her Mom. Not saying the Mom dies. This is easily the BEST sequel of the Exorcist (much stronger & more intense than Exorcist 3, which I loved as well) . This is also a direct sequel. People at the test screening were running up the aisles screaming and one lady even passed out. But be warned, the movie is very graphic. I would not let my kids watch this until at least 16 or 17.

Tbh, I actually have to disagree with Chris on the first trailer. I think it looks great

David Gordon Green is directing it watch there be flashback scenes from the original exorcist and Easter eggs to other exorcist movies and the last movie in the trilogy be a love story.

Blumhouse frequently gives away many things in their trailers. They're very aware of it and it is intentional. They probably have metrics and analytics or something to back it up. I wish they wouldn't - I prefer a more discreet trailer. But whatever works I guess. Their stuff is usually hit or miss for me anyway. I'm not too hopeful for this _trilogy_ , but I'd love to be wrong. The black & white imagery in the thumbnail and trailer is probably scarier than anything that will actually be in the movie. They should have done the whole thing in b&w - take a risk.

I think the thing that might break it for me is if "Believer" takes place in a fabricated location like Haddonfield. I would hope Green used real locations like Friedkin did (and like Blatty did)...

All horror movie requels should stop bringing back legacy characters

The one screenshot towards the end with Chris MacNeil with blood coming from her eyes and mouth should have been left out.

what can you say about a movie that you havent seen ? You should wait till you see the movie before you rush to judgement

Even extremely mediocre horror movies have decent lines of dialogue. The original Exorcist is a masterpiece of writing, directing, acting, etc. And it should be left alone at this point. This requel is probably going to fit right in with all the other lame knock-offs. Exorcist III is pretty great though. If you haven’t seen it, just watch that.

I love how y'all wanna be movie critics think your sole opinion is gonna make it break a movie.

After Halloween Ends, i have no expectations for these Exorcist movies. None.

If u actually watch the trailer more than once. It's the fact it's 2 young girls and I feel like we are going to get to know them in the story. And knowing one might die due to choice makes it worse. I feel sad by it. For anyone who slags this trailer off needs to get head testing. I think this trailer is better than MOST horror movies made. . The nun was crap the new evil dead was crap Insidious was boring. But this looks so different. The setting the lighting the girls Nothing like this. And when the girl says I don't wanna to to hell made me so sad. You will ever get like the original as its a different time and different rules. But for a good horror then I think it works. No other horror movie over last few years have been decent. Other than cabin In the woods

The last 2 Halloween movies were so stupid (as far as the idiotic logic of the characters). So i have low expectations. They should've called the movie something else and NOT used "exorcist" in the title.

Well, you are probably too young, actually no probably about it, you ARE too young to make an assessment as to the most frightening movie there ever was. Trust me, unless all of those movies you just mentioned, happened to send people to their family doctors, the church, some with their children, armed forces members refusing to go back to duty for the thoughts they could not get out of their minds, the list continues. Time magazine, to name only one, there are countless write ups about the Exorcist in almost all readable material. You really need to dig a little deeper than what you have. Fainting, passing out, throwing up at the theaters does not scratch the surface. In short, it is the most frightening movie ever made and it CAN NOT BE REPEATED
