It pained me when Xiumin openly admitted that he didn't know what his "role" in EXO was. And it seemed like for a while, he thought he needed to achieve this dream body for people to love him. But I hope he knows that we'll love and support him no matter what!

Well, It's SM blame. They put him everywhere and anywhere at the same time. Meanwhile, other members have positions to especifics, he was put with the dance line, was presented as a rapper but in promotions they didn't promoted him in any position. And he didn't thought, he knew that he has to achieve his certain body for people to love him and was exactly what happened. Until that moment, SM put him in a corner to sing his own lines, and his fandom exploted when he lost weight. It's sad but he needed to do that to have a career.

​@ingrid6295 I feel like Exo is one of the groups where some members aren't utilized properly. I mean,Chen,D.o.,and Baekhyun are amazing,but I wants other to showcase their vocals more. I was extremely surprised when I found out Suho and Xiumin are the lead vocalists of the group. Also, it doesn't make sense why he isn't the leader, I mean all sm groups oldest members are the leader of their own groups.

I can see how Yoyo-ing can seem appealing as a quick-fix weight loss, but the things it does to your body long-term is just not worth it. I think Xiumin has a good, sensible head on his shoulders. He tried yoyo-ing, realized it was really bad for him, and afterwards is trying to educate his fans to help them make better and healthier choices regarding dieting.

I remembered what Xiumin said that he was fat and lose confidence with his body. But when he loss weight people treated him differently. He continued " why people judge others base on appearance." He is talented. He is caring and kind. He borns to be love. Don't care about those toxic people who always criticize others but never look at themselves. I'm sure many people love Our Minseok. 🥰

When he said he weighed 53 kg my jaw dropped. I'm a little bit taller than him and that would be very underweight for me as a woman so it would be severely under weight for a guy. I'm so glad he doesn't do crash diets anymore. Your health is so much more important

Korean standards are really scary and fans can be so toxic about one's weight T-T Also it doesn't help with shows where they always talk about weight and diets.

@@rnaql4336 they never said “korean fans” just fans in general. and i’ve been into kpop for a decade and i’ve seen almost every idol talk about dieting/wanting to lose weight - that’s cultural. there’s a reason there’s so few overweight/curvy idols

*This week I'm gonna try and get back up all my old videos that were removed for copywrite and fix them.* Xiumin doesn't have an update since he hasn't changed since 2017, all till 2019 with Love shot his weight has been stable. He's in the military now and overall he always seems to have a good head on his shoulders. Xiumin acts pretty responsible all the time and takes care of his health in the same regard.

Hi! Can you please do Jungkook from BTS? I’m worried about him right now. He’s mentioned constantly time and time before about him looking fat or chubby and always wanting to lose weight and I’ve noticed a change in him over the years.

I remember Growl era Xiumin, I was so shocked because he looked like a completely different person. I am so happy he is doing a lot better than he used to be. I love him to death, always have, always will.

EXACTLY. I don't get this attitude either, especially since Minseok actually got into SM by placing SECOND in a singing contest, while there are other members who were scouted because of their visuals - Chanyeol, Sehun, Luhan, etc (I'm not hating on them of course, just saying that Minseok already proved his talent in the very beginning)

aside from his amazing vocals in EXO CBX think he’s the best dancer in EXO right after Kai his moves are so fluid and precise sharp in the right moment, he also used to rap back in EXO-M days. Minseokie is one of the most all rounded talented idols in kpop, if some antis think he’s untalented that’s the worst biggest joke his Versatility is beyond me

from “Love me right” and onwards i think he started to feel confident in his body and that really showed which had him look and appear even more attractive❤️ (my personal favourite of his “best” era in terms of hairstyle clothes and makeup: Monster Kokobop The Eve Love Shot)

The fact he wasn't insecure about his appearance when he debuted but became self-conscious because of people was really sad and even if I don't think Luhan did it on purpose, he somehow helped to created the problem. Xiumin had an healthy weight back then, but he started to promote the Baozi nickname non stop in every single promotion, a nickname that he invented to address Xiumin's "chubiness", he some how make people talk and focus on Xiumin's weight often and Xiumin didn't like that nickname because of it but he keeped using it and fans found it cute and even some of them still using it. We have to be thoughtful about the comments we make, especially if it is about something as personal as the body, those comments, jokes, and nicknames can been hurtful. Even as fans, there is no need to keep using a nickname that it's known to be perceived as negative for the idol himself just because sounds cute, they are persons after all.

Tf who said xiumin didn’t have a purpose in exo, his purpose is being the sweet caring and talented hyung he is, and btw his beauty is beyond reality i always thought he looked like an anime character

The fans started to called him Baozi because of Luhan and taking in account that Xiumin didn't like that nickname and all the hate he faced because his weight Luhan shouldn't call him Baozi non stop in every promotion they had, he somehow bring Xiumin's weight to the conversation and sell this idea of chubinnes.

Can you tell when a celebrity is struggling with bulimia? I know that anorexia is more talked amongst celebrities, whereas bulimia is often shamed and is more secretive (due to often being in a normal weight range). I would love a video on something like this, although I understand if not due to its triggering nature.

I think Xiumin struggled with bulimia, you can see that his cheeks weren't hollow even at his lowest weight, which is a good sign of bulimia. I hope he is doing okay now.

Minseok had weight issue even before debuting. He was overweight (not a critic just a fact,) when he was a child but lost weight by exercising (which was a good call since dieting isn't healthy as a kid... nor as an adult to be honest XD) in order to play soccer which he adores. Koreans have a really weird way to push forward the weight topic on TV show even to the point of using his childhood overweight picture to distract him when they were playing tennis. In France it would have been considered has very rude and as harassment and public humiliation. Even showrunners between them on a TV show were criticizing/laughing to one of them (a woman) for being fat... The weirdest is that if you look in the public of those TV show or even on streets Korean are mostly Short, tanned, round shape head, flat hair, chubby face and thighs and they expect others to look so different from them unconsciously criticizing their own features... Purely insane .... When idol are next to their manager for example the difference is so big that you could think they are from two different species almost. If you put minho or even Taemin next to their Euisoo manager the size of the idols' head is half of their manager ...
