I swear their Christmas albums were made to get everyone in their feelings.

"Miracles In December" features the 4 main vocalists in EXO. By not listening to the EXO-M version you miss out on hearing Luhan's beautiful voice as well. :D If you watch the EXO-M version of "Miracles in December" you will see that Luhan sings instead of D.O. Luhan was one of the main vocalist in EXO-M. Chen and Luhan are both EXO-M members so they sang the Mandarin songs, and to round out the vocals Baekhyun subbed in as an EXO-M member. :D You should check out the Chinese version to hear how beautiful it also is in Mandarin. (In the Korean version you see D.O., Baekhyun and Chen as the singers because they are EXO's main vocalists and they are all native Korean -- even though Chen is a member of EXO-M. To create the perfect melody SM decided they needed all three of them to create the right blend of their voices and harmonies. In the EXO-M version, they put Luhan in the mix because, as the only native Chinese one of the four of them, it would be pretty weird if they didn't use the main vocalist from the Mandarin sub-unit in that version of the song. Plus, Luhan is the only one of the three that speaks fluent Mandarin.) "Miracles in December" is part of EXO's winter comeback releases, so, as you heard, it's a ballad. EXO's winter albums have, so far, always been their ballad albums. Up until the last couple of years, EXO used to come out with 3 to 4 albums a year -- a summer album that was more of their mainstream hype songs and a repackaged album a few weeks later, and then, in the winter, they would release another album that was more of a holiday album and it was all slower ballad songs. But for the last couple of years EXO's first comeback of the year hasn't been until the end of the year -- for example, Don't Mess Up My Tempo was released in November 2018 and the Obsession album didn't come out until November 2019. So, I guess, because the first album and repackage were released so late in the year, SM decided that releasing a winter holiday album would just be too soon after the other album. So we haven't gotten a new winter album for 2 years now. Which I think is a shame because EXO's ballads are really beautiful and I enjoy them almost more than their other songs. If you noticed, in this MV, Xiumin was the one that made it snow. Xiumin has the power to control ice/frost/snow, so any time something has to do with these weather elements they will focus on him. In the MV you see Xiumin in the red sweater and the black vest with the lapel pin that is shaped like EXO's logo for this album. He steps outside and looks up at the sky and at that moment his pin shimmers and it begins to snow. It is thought that the members' powers are tied to their emotions, so when Xiumin is sad or melancholy, he almost can't help it, and he will make it snow. And as you also may have noticed, Tao is the one that turned back time and then instantly brought time back to the present again, because he has the power to control time. The snow was falling in reverse at one point because Tao was rewinding time. Then you see everything pause for a second and the snow starts falling down again when he brings everything back to the present. You also saw during this MV that there was an eclipse. The eclipse affects the members powers and it is also where they gather strength, etc. This even happens in live performances. You will see instances of them using their powers to even control things that happen on stage during live concert performances. Suho makes it rain on stage, Xiumin will make it snow, Chanyeol will control fire, Chen will control the thunder and lightning, Baekhyun often makes the lights go on and off, etc. If you keep this all in mind when you watch any of their MVs or live performances, it's kind of fun to search for the instances where they are using their powers. In some MVs and songs the members use their powers more than others, but at least one member will use their powers in almost everything they do, it just might be more subtle sometimes than others. So it's just another element of EXO's performances that make watching them unique. "Miracles in December" is a kind of breakup song that is about how the holidays makes you nostalgic for that loved one that you are no longer with. It makes you remember all the good times and makes you wish you were together even though you know, deep down, you are better off now that you have broken up. Each of the member's gifts are supposed to be what they each would have given to their girlfriends if they hadn't broken up before the holidays. "She" was a different girl for each of the members, and "she" was not meeting any of them, she was a memory of a past relationship that was no more. That's why Tao turns back time for a moment to relive being in the relationship, but then quickly returns to the present because he knows deep down he really can't go back in time and expect to fix everything in the relationship. That's why they are all sad and crying because they are heartbroken. I like to think, for example, that the puppy was probably going to be a present for Kai's girlfriend, but now that they have broken up, it just reminds him of her. It's kind of a bittersweet memory. :D The "miracle" is that the girl had such a profound impact on their life that, even though they aren't together anymore, she will always play a big role in his life history, etc. The "miracle" is that the holidays give you a reason to look back and reflect on those special moments in life, and even though the memories might make them sad because they are no longer able to make new memories together, the old memories are still there. And the "miracle" is that he has now realized she has taught him so much about love and life, but unfortunately, he has realized it too late and he can't go back, so he is sad. He's now upset because he is unable to show her the appreciation she deserves, etc, etc. Knowing what the lyrics are about gives you a different perspective on the song. "Miracles in December" is another one of EXO's songs where you need to see both the EXO-K and EXO-M version. Because, although the storyline is similar in both MVs, the MVs ARE different because the singers of the song are different. "Miracles In December" was a song from when they still had all 12 of the members so the separate MVs are important to the storyline. Any MVs that were released before 2015, you definitely should watch both the EXO-K and EXO-M version. After that, although both versions become less important to the storyline, I still think it's worth watching both versions because it's at least worth hearing what the song sounds like in Mandarin. And even though most people think there aren't a whole lot of differences between the two versions anymore, I still find both versions important if you are trying to follow EXO's storyline, because there are almost always hidden Easter eggs in each version that help to tell a little more of EXO's story. SM always creates subtle differences in the two versions because they are telling the story from a different angle or perspective -- EXO-M is still important to the storyline even though they no longer promote as the two groups.

Yes, there aren't too many groups that can capture your heart like Exo....their vocals I tell you,...geez, it's no joke. Don't let anyone tell you Exo can't sing, because they wouldn't be here after 10 years for nothing...the first time I saw this video I cried (2014?)....and now every Christmas since then, my Christmas is not complete without this song....because I WANT TO cry....and we all need a little cry now and then right? But bro, do not sleep on Chen's "Beautiful Goodbye" mv, his voice is like an angel...a sad break-up song, I don't listen often unless someone is reacting because I run from this song...I've cried enough🤣, but it is absolutely beautiful...just watch the mv which has subs, don't spoil the mood with lyric videos. Thanks for your reaction bro...Exo is a journey of music to enjoy.💙

All of EXO ballads are beautiful. Every album has at least one however their winter albums are full of them. Hopefully soon you can watch their live performances of their ballads these are magical.

EXO ballads are amazing their vocals are so great they can of course pull off any style but when it’s a ballad they put so much emotion into it you can really feel the music and the MVs just add to that. Universe, Sing for You and For Life are really great as well. Baby Don’t Cry and My Answer is You are probably my favorites and Wait which is a little newer than the others I mentioned but I love all their songs so it’s hard to choose one

I just ran across your channel today as I was watching EXO reaction videos. My first exposure to kpop was BTS, something I think is true of many of the newer kpop fans. I enjoy many groups, but when I found EXO, I knew I had found my ultimate group. D.O. I fell in love with immediately (I'm a gay guy, but I think there are quite a few straight guys out there who are under his spell as well). This mv is probably my all-time favorite because it so beautiful. I'm really loving your reactions, and I will be catching up on other groups you've reacted to soon. D.O. is obviously my bias, and then it's probably a tie between Chanyeol and Baekhyun.
