Roni Size Reprazent live at Exit festival!
Roni Size & Reprazent are a British drum and bass group fronted by Roni Size. Their debut album New Forms won the Mercury Music Prize in 1997. Their follow-up album In the Møde featured artists including Rahzel, Zack de la Rocha of Rage Against the Machine and Method Man.
The group's music has been described as "meticulously crafted break-beats that, when slowed down, revealed themselves as hip-hop beats". The most popular track, “Brown Paper Bag”, was praised in The Guardian as a “masterpiece: an essay in hyperkinetic pace, it piles up teetering stacks of instrumental layers, their cumulative weight triggering each step in a constant cycle of demolition and reconstruction of its latticework of melody, rhythm and mood"
EXIT is the two-time winner of the “Best Major European Festival” award along with the continuous recognition by the global music stars, fans and media alike.
Held each year at the 18th Century colossal Petrovaradin Fortress in the city of Novi Sad in Serbia, EXIT started as a student movement whose massive protests brought down the oppressive regime in Serbia. EXIT became the first mass event to gather all the people in Balkans after a long decade of divisions.
Celebrated as a place where hedonism meets activism, it is the social relevance of EXIT that has made it unique and globally recognized hosting stars like The Prodigy, Arctic Monkeys, Madonna, The Killers, Sex Pistols, Guns’n’Roses, Arcade Fire, Beastie Boys, David Guetta, Carl Cox, Nina Kraviz, Patti Smith, Motorhead, LCD Soundsystem, Wiz Khalifa, Snoop Dogg, Wu-Tang Clan, Andy C, DJ Shadow, and countless many more at 30+ stages in nearly two decades since its inception in 2000. So far, EXIT hosted a worldwide audience of over 2.5 million visitors from 60 different countries.
EXIT Team now runs five festivals in five neighboring countries, EXIT in Serbia, Festival 84 in Bosnia, Sea Star in Croatia, Revolution in Romania and Sea Dance in Montenegro.

I don't know what happened to Roni and Reprazent after the New Forms stuff. It's unparalleled, not just for them, but the whole sound. You can see the energy, not just in the crowd but even from Roni himself when it comes on. Still blows my mind that there's nothing like the late 90s DnB

These guys have been amazingly bridging the gap between dance and rock music since the 90's, but at the 58 minute mark we have symbiosis. All hail the Reprazent

At House of Blues? I was there. It was an incredible night. After the show they went up in the balcony and spun records. The whole place turned into a rave.

this is what happens when a genre is eventually eaten up, cleansed and baptised by the institutions. they place a bunch of mocking sessions musicians running with the recorded sound. add an MC and some dazzling lights. Roni Size and Reprazent was cool in 1998/99. Now this EXIT festival is mainstream entertainment trash...

As much as I love RS for New Forms, I just can't stand this era of touring with that annoying MC they put that just won't shut up man. They should seriously take a look at what massive attack does and keep Onalee singing upfront with the band behind dropping that elegant jungle they used to do instead of this Pendulum kinda shite. Is like Tricky...dude, you're so good at being an intelligent musician yet you keep self indulging so much that you've lost prestige? My opinion
