I wish this had the original sound to play for my cats who are still learning to trust their treadwheel.
My cat loves his wheel.I got the biggest size i could find (one fast cat cat in motion wheel).Hes glued to watching this video too.My cat is a cornish rex ,so is long and thin.The wheel cost £200 inc delivery uk.He loves it.Put him on it at 3 months old.Hes now 2 and goes on it every day.But he crys for me to sit next to him on it and sing a song in the rythm that the wheel makes.Hes only come off it once.He was going so fast it spat him off.But he didnt get hurt.He gets his frustation out on it too as he isnt an outdoor cat unless on a harness.I highly rekomend using one.Im not joking hes just watched this video and now has gone in the bathroom on his wheel!..

The dog at around 5min has a serious personality problem. I felt so nervous and concerned for that cat while watching. The owner seriously sucks for not nipping that behavior in the bud.

Well, I guess every cat is different. Some of them are playful and learn easily how to use it. Others might take their time to finally decide whether they like to try or not. But most of them do because it keeps them active.

We have 3 cats, but sadly only our pure Siamese who's food and toy motivated (as well as human praise/pets motivated) will use it mostly (she'll do just about anything for treats, toys and attention/pets). The other two cats are mix half Abyssinian, half Siamese and not very interested in the wheel (they are only mildly motivated by treats, toys, attention/pets so much harder to train them to do tricks or use the wheel). Trick is to first get your cat used to being near and on the wheel, without it turning - so toys, treats, catnip on and around the wheel whatever things they associate as good fun things. Then as your cat becomes more relaxed/comfortable around and on the wheel, you can try holding toy (like a cat wand) or treat up such that the cat will have to get on the wheel and walk towards it to get it used to walking on the wheel. Once your cat seems comfortable with walking on the wheel you can try and see if it will be ok with running on the wheel - holding treat or toy up higher such that the cat has to jog a bit to get near it. Reward your kitty with pets, praise and treats for running on their wheel. Then eventually your kitty might decide it wants to go for a run and hop on the wheel for a sprint on its own accord. That said, every cat is different and you really can't force it. Still it's nice for them to know they have the option to go for a run on it if they want to burn off extra energy or are bored.
