Exercise Cartwheel 2023 | New Zealand Army

Embedded in Fiji 🇫🇯🤝🇳🇿 Go behind the scenes of Exercise Cartwheel - as our Army delivers weaponry training and learns the art of jungle warfare alongside Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) and international counterparts.
From navigating encounters with a fictional enemy in dense tropic environments, to thriving amongst Fijian culture, our soldiers have come away with new combat skills, and enhanced bonds across the sea.
This is a step forward in ensuring our soldiers are combat capable, well-equipped and fully prepared for action across the spectrum of military operations.
Vinaka for hosting us RFMF and U.S. Army Pacific - until next time.

I never got to work with the Gurkhas, back in the day, but the Kiwis & Fijians were some of the best soldiers I've ever seen.

@@zaynevanday142 I've seen plenty youngster. I've worked with Irish Rangers, Royal Marines, US Marines, US Army Rangers, US Navy, New Zealand Army, NZ SAS, Fiji Army, & almost every Corps in the Royal Australian Army. Least impressive were the US Marines, they're undertrained, overconfident & lacked discipline & awareness. Most impressive were the NZ SAS. They were all huge, had endless stamina & superb field discipline. The regular RNZINF guys were at a very similar standard, as were the Fijians.

@@zaynevanday142 cold climate doesn't mean they're from snowy mountains, most of it is high hills mate, the snowy mountainer Gurkhas are from Sherpa clans of Nepal and what u think even the best soldiers in the world won't get frost bites walking bare feet? U think they are some kind of robots fam and genuinely curious wtf is wiberia

I was lucky when,I served with 1 RNZIR we had 2 years of jungle training in Malaya. The jungle tracking course was great to do,also the GPMG SF course, followed by the SF Concentration competition in Hong Kong,at Castle Peak. The Battalion had 5 full companies then.

When the ccp want to take what nz has, water, arable land, mineral reserves, vast fossil fuel reserves..... I sadly dont think this will make much impact. 😢

The Army somewhere in between when I got out in 2000 and when I rejoined in 2006 turned into a bad joke woke as weak as it’s turned into mushy softness and the worst of it was at the school of feet/infantry/combat they used to be the gold standard and I have seen with my own eyes what it’s turned into NOBODY FKN FAILS 😂😂😂 8/9/10 retests still fails Nav and they still passed that waste of Rations 😂😂😂 the NZ Army in its current state is a Disaster waiting to happen and ALL THE RESPONSIBILITY RESTS WITH THE TOP BRASS Starting with General Matapare ole if you want to jump join the SAS 😂😂😂

That's very sad to read mate, and in the 70s our government refused us any reconciliation at all same in the 80s apparently. Maybe the Australian army might be a better option mate. 🤔.
