The new one is stunning. Gorgeous car. But the original? Still my absolute favourite car of all time. Not only the proportion is right, but the detail and the SIZE of it. It’s TINY! I already knew this having seen one in the flesh but it still bowls me over. What a glorious thing.

When I first saw a Maserati MC20 in the flesh I was shocked how large it is. Unfortunately these dimensions define alot of the parameters. Also all the crash regulations etc force cars to get bigger. If you had a big crash in the original you would be dead.

I'd say the original is indeed an icon. The new one? I don't like it - it's too bulbous, and to me comes across as a bit of a caricature. The interior is beautiful though - but at 1.7 million euros you'd hope it's pretty damn special.

100% agree. Alfa seems so polarised in their offerings. Unobtanium like this and the 8C, the ambitious but flawed 4C, then things like the ToeNail. Imagine if they built something on the GR86 platform in a collab with Toyota, or followed Fiat with a Mazda collab on the MX-5 platform. The Giulia could have been a catalyst for a strong cloverleaf sub-brand.

Being a petrol head my choice would be the V6 but if an EV version can approach the performance levels of the Rimac Nevera that really would be something!😀👍 With only 33 being made I wonder if any will see serious road use or more likely be squirrelled away into air conditioned private collections.

I didn't love it at first but seeing it in brighter light and actually moving you notice how different it looks to other more angular modern supercars, especially all the little details, lights, grill, the rear hatch vents, also a more traditional interior. Kudos Alfa

Inititally I was on the fence about the design; the more I look at it from all the different angles, and hearing all the different stylistic considerations to remain true to the original 33 the more I love the car. Creating a brand new design that pays homage to the original is a hard enough task, but I actually think Alfa hit it out of the park with this one.

Really? It almost makes me want to vomit - it's bulbos and disgusting - like a Bugatti, but even less tasteful.

I do feel that the De Tomaso P72 somehow comes closer to the original 33 than than alfa's own work.

Among all these super expensive cars, this would be my favourite, love the rear, the silhouette and the no fuss interior. Would actually love to be able to buy some of the pictures of the design study shown at the beginning...sadly, there s none of that in the official Alfa store (which seems to be very neglected overall btw, no pics/prints at all). Harry or Alfa, if you read this, there s a market for good prints, I petition to make these pictures available to us as prints...you already created them for the museum, why not selling prints at reasonable prices to all those who love your design icon (I know it s not gonna be cheap but make it reasonable!).

The original 33 Stradale is always my answer to the question “What car would you get if money was no object?”. Does the new one envoke the same emotions? Can’t really say so. But it’s still a great design with lots of little details paying homage to the original car and the brand’s history. If only they haven’t overdone the front-end/headlight area that much…

The most beautiful car I've seen in years. Truly a piece of sculpture which will age wonderfully - Its a masterstroke not adding a screen to the interior 👌

Alfa Romeo needs new real models, otherwise the brand will not survive. They should have made a coupe and estate wagon from the Giulia.

This a lovely car but there’s more skill in pushing the limits for the masses, finding ways to make brilliant cars that can be seen on the ordinary roads, like Alfa used to do.

This will be a fantastic watch for a Sunday Evening! I'm happy that Alfa Romeo ended up creating some great and sporty Cars the past 10 Years. I remember when everyone expected them to close Shop or end up just manufacturing small Economy Cars. And now even a Supercar which i did not expect at all! I hope Alfa Romeo stays on this Path.
