Ever wondered how an IEM is made?
This episode of the Superchonk Show takes you to the heart of Chifi, China. Where we take a look at the processes on how your IEMS/Earphones are made.
7hz has very kindly allowed up to take a peek into the process revealing some cool secrets about the Chifi world! We take a look at the production of the 7hz Sonus!
It was quite insightful for me as well as being so close to the manufacturing process really makes me feel that Chifi is really too cheap from all that hard work.

Thank you for taking the trip and showing us the process! :D Makes us appreciate our IEMs even more!
surprised how much of it is done manually. thank you for this insight
Very informative SuperChonk. I appreciate that 7Hz let you film this video. And now to purchase a pair!

I didn't expect to be so many processes to be done by hand. Now I just hope the workers are paid fairly because this IEMs don't have any right to be this cheap! (in a good way)

Not to worry... Workers at 7Hz are paid fairly and they are happy working for us. I can't say about other companies though.

WoW the coil winding is handmade, they weren’t joking with their custom driver!
@KopiOkaya

Yes, they are. Especially those not "off-the-shelf" drivers. To create custom jig and mold requires a MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity). Usually 10,000 units
@TomatePasFraiche

@@KopiOkaya yes it’s not a small manufacturing feat. They probably intend to use the jigs for a lot more drivers, can’t wait to see the refinement in the lower end!

@@TomatePasFraicheBy the way, I am with 7Hz. Most of the time, custom jigs and molds stay with the brand. The driver manufacturer cannot reuse it to sell to another brand or make (by contract).

That's why othrr brands are better. Bo tubing filters. Only crossover to allow the driver to move. They the chamber. Look at ie600 the noozle. Or audio 64 with an acoustic chamber inside like a speaker .

Paulo, price is a reflection of how much goes into a product. Every brand has their budget and premium lines. As the saying goes, you get what you pay. Nonetheless, not everyone is willing to pay premium for hobby. They have other priorities in life. In fact, budget products are the "bread and butter" of many brands. Let's put it this way... You can only sell so many $1,000 IEM a month.

In today's day and age, you don't have to be physically in China to get things done. Everything is done virtually via the Internet. For example, as a tuner, I communicate with China side through video conference and WeChat massages. Our only "barriers" are language and technical jargons.
