What a cool experience. I love seeing the behind the scenes like this. Our manufacturer builds the black boxes for Stern so that's all the behind the scenes I've experienced. It's awesome to see the rest of the process. It was super cool running into you, Cale, and Rachel at Logan's. Hopefully we can meet up again soon at the Electric Bat when I come to visit!
Way to go Ralph!!!! Your friend Jeff is proud of you!!!

I was at Logan that night as a civilian, lol. It was so cool to realize who I was sharing the room with
Such a cool video. Nice to have seen what goes into building these machines. The biggest take away from this tour is that the interest in pinball is still hugh (which is so amazing in itself and so awesome for the pinball community). Great Stern Pinball factory coverage!

Glad you enjoyed it and thank you so much for watching! The interest in pinball seems to be growing, maybe not at the pace we all wish but it's cool to see new faces being interested in it. It was a foreign land for me up until 3 years ago and I'm personally having a ton of fun with it! Hopefully more players discover it either at arcade bars or buying one for their home. Thanks again man!

Great presentation! I only wonder if they use all the same cabinets, do they just turn a standard cabinet back to front to create the Billy Mitchell pinball machine, where the playfield is tilted toward the backboard?
Ralph your enthusiasm and passion for gaming especially pinball is off the charts which is why I ask why don’t you develop and create your own pinball? I’d rather buy from independent creator rather than Stern.
Dude. So cool.

Hey yeah ...👍👍
In the words of Napoleon Dynamite "Lucky!" It would be cool to be a part of that tour! I have a few Questions: 1. With licensing, does the license holder get paid upfront to use the IP, I know they have to get permission, but do they request a payment in with a contract, or maybe a residual of products sold? 2. I wonder with you saying the wiring harness is hush hush, if it's the technique used? 3. Will pinball ever go wireless, meaning no harness, but have a long table length PC board that could handle all electronics, solenoids flippers, etc with 5v, 12v, and 24v capability. But GREAT video Ralph! Thanks for showing us!
@RetroRalph

It was an awesome experience, very grateful that I got the invite! #1 I'm not sure but that's a great question! #2 It could be, they had a machine and then a tester that they designed, maybe they don't want the competition seeing it, not sure. #3 Some of the boards run at 48v so I'm not sure but that would be pretty cool! Thanks so much for watching brother, I really appreciate it!
Sadly, MY invitation must have been LOST in the mail! :-( I guess I am too old and fat now for these new KZreadrs!

@@RetroRalph 💔 say it ain’t so Ralph. Say it ain’t so!!!
The excuse about guns being blown out of proportion is not true. Keanu makes up 1/2 of what makes Wick cool, the other half is the cool guns. Cutting them out of the art was ridiculous. Nobody accepts the license excuse, and neither should Stern have accepted it in negotiations. Since then the company has been on damage control, including this invite.
@RetroRalph
26 күн бұрын
You’re entitled to your opinion but for me personally, the game is really fun and having guns on the artwork doesn’t have any impact on my enjoyment of the game. So you think Stern shouldn’t have made the game because the license holder wouldn’t approve the use of guns on the artwork? I respect your opinion but I don’t agree. 👍🏻
Price for pinball make no sense

There is SO MUCH detail that goes into these machines. Yea it's expensive, but that's what it costs to produce (unfortunately). I'm in the same boat! I could never afford one of these (for home use) but maybe one day they will be affordable on the second hand market.

Most telling part of the video was when you said Stern was going to cheap out and not even have a roof on the Aston Martin. If it wasn't for the license owner forcing them to add a mech roof it wouldnt even have one. Typical cheap cheap cheap Stern!
@RetroRalph
25 күн бұрын
You’re assuming it was them trying to cut costs.. It had nothing to do with that. They intentionally left the roof off in the initial design because they felt it would be problematic to have a roof opening as many times as it would and be able to maintain reliability of the mechanism. But the licensor forced their hand so they had to develop a roof and then do extensive testing to make sure it was reliable. It was less of a cost cutting measure and more about long term reliability. As a bond owner, I have yet to have a problem with the roof so it looks like they did a great job 👍🏻
You’re coming up Ralph…3 or 4 pins now?
