Hey.. Great review.. Since you guys are also working from home why don't you come up with a Q n A session? It'll help a lot people out here.. Here's my question.. I want to buy a car with a budget of 10 lac. and I am confused as to which car should I buy. Should i go for a compact SUV like the Nexon facelift or the xuv300 or should I buy a sedan like the upcoming Verna 2020 or the Toyota Yaris? I'll have to travel about 60-70 kms a day. Can you guide me on the pros and cons of a compact SUV and a sedan?

I loved the Kaorq. Drove it and compass back to back as it was confusing, but the interior quality and luxurious feel on this one is bit ahead IMO plus more features. I DONT Require 4x4 or 7 seater, this is a perfect one for me. A little expensive thought, should have been 25-26L on road not 29L, but then again, it's a CBU so can't help it. PS: People comparing it to kia seltos and Creta are surely keyboard warriors. I have test driven both of them in Turbo petrol form and there is just no comparison with this German beauty. They focus on long Feature list, not the actual quality. Only when you experience the Karoq, you will know about it's worth

At 24 lacs its very expensive. It will dull the initial response. And after that they will give you offers " buy a skoda now and pay in the next millennium " which will be of no use.

Yups 20L ll be a better price tag especially considering the competition. But I doubt that it's gonna happen coz it's a CBU fisrt, and after the recent Pandemic, the import duties are only going to increase in order to stabilize the economy..

dan 2001 you guys realise that this is potentially a Audi q3 and Volvo xc40 direct competitor and every one will comparing to Kia seltos and creta 😂😂 Just like the upcoming generation of Octavia will be no longer a civic , altis competitor , it has already been tagged as the cheapest luxury sedan in the world at 22-26 lacs overseas

I also have rapid. Done with 1 service. And its cost to me 7500 for 15000 km. Which is cheaper than my maruti baleno diesel service. Which is cost to me 8000 for 10000 km.

Go To German cars are costly in servicing from company there are many certified service stations out there where you can get it done for less than half the price what you get in the company

I used to live in India before my family moved to Canada. After coming here I've realized how much cheaper such cars really are. The govt and companies are screwing Indians over by import fees. This is a $35,000-$42,000 car in Canada at best (Tho Skoda will never sell cars here their parent company VW does so I'm using them as a reference). Indians will have to pay a lot more than that unfortunately, upwards of $50,000 CAD if they are charging $24 lakhs ex showroom which meant it will cost a lot more.

Like Skoda's not-so-loud designs. Will age well, and not feel old even after few years.

They need to price it a bit competitively and improve their after sales It will kill the likes of creta and seltos

abhijit tawde i feel its not just about size if it would had been a 1.8 TSI and with more features like may be paddle shifter and many more and being a cbu still 26-27 would have been done a justice. but for spec 27 is too much

Not possible bro.... Because it is a CBU.... That is imported.... So hefty taxes will apply I think around 30 to 50%

What made Yeti an amazing car was its performance and 4X4 spec!!!! They should have equipped this car with 4X4 at this price range!!!

Agree to disagree., that's why it sold in such low numbers. 4*4 made Yeti a costly car. How many Trailhalks does Jeep sold??? Not all people want 4*4. Sure, There are enthusiasts,but mass market products doesn't work like that. I am fine it without 4*4 as This is essentially a urban SUV with occasional Trips outside city with family. For that, this car is just fine.

If anything more that 22Lacs Ex-Showroom for this car, it would be deal breaker as the same car would be available under the VW badging, that's T-Roc which is already announced at 19.9Lacs Ex-showroom. Skoda needs to price this competitively as it has maximum potential to eat Jeep Compass's and Tata Harrier's market given they fight in the same bracket with their BS6 models. Great video Autocar, can we expect T-Roc v/s Karoq anytime soon ? That should be fun !

Please do a comparison between the karoq and compass ....and may be between these 2 Vs the Civic and Elantra...🙏🙏🙏

Owned skoda cars(Rapid & octavia) for a long time and absolutely love them- Just waiting for kodiaq to be introduced but can have a look at this one

18L would be perfect pricing for this car , it would do great ! Anything around 25 I'd never opt it . Much better options available in market for a better price and frankly better looks too

The only thing is i really really gonna miss...is the Diesel engine... perhaps i really loved this product

My thoughts too, but there is a lockdown in case you're unaware.

Skoda reallllly needs to nail the pricing,in that way it will get a head start in India,they have to be reallllly good at marketing like Kia seltos and pricing should be 18 lacs ex- showroom.It will be a blockbuster in that range.

Awesome car and the colour looks stunning I feel Skoda & Volkswagen should be given a level playing field with reduction of taxes and let them gain the market share

Skoda cars are very costly but give very few features and performance

It should have been a made in India to reduce cost and spare availability. Fully assembled car is a strict No when you have so many beautiful made in India SUVs

This car is all about exclusivity , big butch look , best in best build quality and fit and finish of skoda , you are getting an import because it’s a cbu , has those conventional luxury features like Panasonic sunroof , memory seats , digital instrument cluster , worlds best dsg transmission , 2 zone climate , electronic parking brake , wish diesel option also comes it would be priced same as t roc around 20 lacs but I wish it was manufactured locally and fall under buyable 15-17 lac bracket would easily have hammered hector and harrier

Sure it will be successful car. If it priced under 25lacks for the top model. If so Sure it will beat the sale of hector , compass and new upcoming Hyundai Tucson

At 30 lk onroad price it's expensive than entry level benz, audi n BMW..... Not to mention at this price we get fortuner

CBU route may be pushing the price up. I think the government should revisit the tax regime to see quality vehicles on our roads.

24 lacs for a car of this size is a bit hard to digest. The equipment list, the powertrain & other paraphernalia are just about decent & personally, I don't feel are worth the price tag. If Skoda plans to manufacture it here in India & bring down the cost, then maybe it'll sell well.

It's a best suv in this segment not single competitor can give this much luxury with all features . Prices has to be agressive as to be within reach of customer .

As a Yeti Owner I will miss the diesel and 4*4 rest is good.

What a neat delightful looking dashboard, with the infortainment neatly integrated rather that sticking out like an ipad glued on the dashboard as an afterthought that we see in a lot of cars these days. Just wish they would introduce a manual transmission for the driving enthusiasts.

This will be more expensive than a T-roc. It has a powered driving seat ,that too with memory function. A full size spare wheel. 3 airbags extra and few more things like ambient lighting etc. Expect at least 3 lakhs more than T-roc(Ex-Showroom)

150 hp for a petrol engine is quite good. And considering it will go against harrier, it has an advantage as harrier doesn't come with a petrol so no competition over there. So it would then be a premium choice over seltos and creta. I don't think so CBU must be an option at least try to locally assemble it for cost cutting if market strategy is what Skoda is thinking of.

I think the volkswagen T ROC is much better as it is almost 4 lac cheaper than this one as both are same cars with different names and also the coupe like styling in t roc is really good

Want to see how well it well fair in the Indian market....not much expectation for this due to the high pricing...

Kudos to Skoda for providing a full size spare tyre. Shameless manufacturers who cut cost on safety and provide puny space savers take note.

Endevour's exshowroom price is 30-32 lac...top end may 41-42 lac as well...# fortuner 44-45 lacs..( top end)

I m looking for skoda rapid petrol dsg Skoda or amaze cvt Skoda is huge in length thats the only thing disappointed me Its all about 14.5 feet 😥 I cant park this machine in my city drive and i go through pocket roads i cant turn this one easily 😥. But width of rapid is same as amaze love it.😍 Not only for me we indians use a car in city and highways. So in future make a compact sedan of length 13 feet and width of same 5.6 ft. Thankyou♥️

Instead of CBU bring CKU and bit of localisation and price it at 19-20 lakhs.

This is purely a Harrier competitor, but the import duty will make it an endeavor or CRV competitor. Sad to see future of such a well built car in limbo, just because of the inflated price like it happened with the CRV. They launch and they vanish, nobody notices.
