We are at quarters of FDNY Engine 88 and Ladder 38, First Due at the Zoo, at 2225 Belmont Avenue, where we see Ladder 38 as it responds first due to Box 3199 at 4439 3rd Avenue between East 182nd Street and East 181st Street for a person locked out of their apartment, with food on the stove. Engine 88 would have been first due, but they were out of service due to mechanical issues with the rig. Engine 46, Engine 75, and Engine 42 were first, second, and third due engines. Ladder 56 was second due truck. Battalion 19 was the sole Chief on the Box. The call ended up just being someone locked out of their apartment, but with no danger of having a stove fire. All companies returned to quarters within about 5 minutes. Ladder 38 is a brand new 2023 Seagrave Attack with a 100-foot rear-mount stick. It was delivered 5 days prior to this day.
