If her name had originally been announced correctly, people wouldn't be so salty. Now everyone's acting like she's the bad guy? I don't think that's the problem. being awarded the biggest achievement a woman could ever win only to find out that it was a mistake and having to give it up. that is probably the biggest and maybe most embarrassing buzzkill in woman's history. I think for something like that they both should've just been named miss universe. but no one like a tie.

I agree. Philippines never had her solo moment in the spotlight and didn't get a chance to walk or anything. She was cheated.

I tried to remain unbiased but Miss Phillipines just exudes dignity and grace.

"I was going to her already but I... I decided that it was bad timing to do it now." Good lady Pia. In other 'unseen' footage, I can see that some girls bashed her and try to shoo her away when she tried to console ms colombia, and ms colombia turned her back on her. And she still did not sell the girls for bashing her in this interview. She only said wisely that 'it was a bad timing'. This is an humble awesome woman we have for Ms Universe 2015!

What you're saying is just your biased opinion. All the judges picked her to be Ms Universe. She slayed the preliminaries, she got the most global votes on every category and these are all FACTS.

To everyone bashing Miss Philippines, you could tell she felt awful having to take the crown from Miss Colombia just by the way she reacted when Steve Harvey announced the mistake. And to all Colombians getting angry over this, Filipinos never disrespected Colombia when they said she was the winner. We can't even enjoy the victory knowing we felt like we took something away. Actually i think of Steve Harvey's mistake as a blessing in disguise... you get to see how the contestants really react to the situation and how they handled it. You get to see behind their beautiful face their true colors... and sadly it was not how i expected them to have handle to the situation. Telling Pia to step back, ignoring her and being rude to her? i didn't expect that from the contestants who represent their country.

When our Miss Universe was talking about how she was going to Miss Colombia to apologise but there was a crowd comforting her and she thought it was not a good time, you can genuinely see her start to choke up and seems like her eyes were watery. There's a video of many comforting Miss Colombia and absolutely ignoring our Miss Universe on the stage and also a video of our Miss Universe crying alone back stage. I am not Colombian or Filipino, and originally felt really sorry for Miss Colombia. Even though she was far from my list of choice to begin with, all of a sudden, my heart was going to her. However, after seeing all the bullshit response from the Colombian and Miss Colombia herself having no grace what so ever in her Instagram after the event, and so stupid not knowing what is important here is not winning but competing beautifully together, I am really supporting Miss Philippines. It is a shame for Colombia. Are you guys that stupid? The real victim of this mishap is actually Miss Philippines because she was put into an awkward position by the situation. It would have made Miss Colombia so popular if she gracefully congratulated Pia, and walked out gracefully. To be honest, without this, Miss Colombia would have just been a first runner-up, and soon have been forgotten globally. (I wouldn't even have watched this beauty peasant show anyway- no time) Due to Harvey's mistake, she actually got more attention than what she would have originally gotten, regardless of whether she won or not. And she uses this opportunity so stupidly, and some of her fellow country men seem stupid as well. Why don't you be graceful and use this to your benefit? A true idiocy. Thanks god, she didn't win. Obviously the judges unanimously voted for Miss Philippines for a reason. They knew what they were dealing with. Arrogance goes hand in hand with idiocy. I will expect something better from the Colombians. The entire show, Colombia just looked very arrogant and snarky as if she knew she was gonna win. No offense, I could be dead wrong where I mistake arrogance for confidence and she just has that natural "resting b*tch" face and also her translator didn't translate her answers properly. But either way, something about her came off wrong and when she won, I felt like the entire thing was rigged becuz Pia felt more like a Miss Universe than Colombia. But when that mistake happened, I did indeed felt bad for Colombia (but mostly Phillipines becuz she didn't really get her moment). I understand Colombia has the right to be angry but then if you are competing to be a Miss Universe, I don't think the right response is "to share the crown." After all, it's just a beauty contest, there are bigger things to look out for. Just be glad that u were 1st runner up even tho I think USA made a better 1st runner up than Ariadna.

No, Miss Philippines tried her best to talk with Miss Colombia when she was crowned but the other contestants told her to step back. They ignored Miss Philippines and pushed her away. Miss Philippines answers were clear. She cares about the people, furthering in growth to represent her country & to further help others as well. It was never solely about what she thinks but how she could help better the people through awareness & education. Brilliant mind & beautiful heart. HUMBLE!!! Never boastful!!! I do not care about the flare or the prettiness of the contestants. I want to see who is real, I want to see character. The question & answer portion is what set the new Miss Universe apart. Every single woman in that pageant has the quality to win any event. It is what you do with the title of Miss U and how you show support for the people by being an active member in education and awareness that is vital to the role. Miss Colombia has many qualities needed to win but sadly never mentioned any foundations or organizations she would like to help her fellow countrymen or other people around the world.

I felt really bad for both, but Ariadna Gutierez possesses nothing that could've made her the winner. I'm not sure how she became Ms. Colombia or how she even got pass all the other candidates. Pia has a very strong sense of humility and dignity that Ariadna clearly lacked. She even covered for Ms. Colombia and the others claiming it was "bad timing." The way she handled it was superb. A Miss Universe is supposed to be humble, strong and willing to face challenges. How Ariadna responded afterward just proves she's not fit for the position. Even outside of the competition, she's essentially a bitch. Suing for $5 million? Really? How about using that money for actually solving her country's educational problem about drug abuse (like she said in her Q and A)? That just proves that she's just about talk and has no interest in solving world issues.

+Dettoh Sckrimu I read somewhere that Ariadna is actually Paulina Vega's cousin lol. Not sure if it was true or not. But if it's true, then maybe that's the reason why she won Miss Colombia 2015 in the first place. Idk

Miss Columbia looks too masculine in the face. just frim looking at looks like she has a bad attitude. Miss Philippine looks ver soft in the face. She very pretty, prettier than Miss Columbia in my opinion. it's just my opinion. Miss Philippine please do a great job representing women in this universe. We need a good representation.

I know she has been through an embarrassing situation but she should have accepted that she didn't win and she should have congratulated Miss Philippines to show the sportsmanship (if she has it). :)

The poise and class she oozes just amazes me. I never knew about her until this whole controversial topic sadly..but I'm glad nonetheless for it since it led me to finding out about her

Miss Colombia and her country need to be gracious and accept the results . Miss Colombia's reaction was very reflective of a diva who was upset that she didn't get what she wanted . Miss Philippines counties to show dignity and humility admits the chaos . Bravo.

wow. this validates her being Ms. Universe. she has the class, humility and very gracious. doesn't even have to apologize. You're rightfully the Ms. Universe. The judges did not make a mistake. only the announcement.

She doesn't need to apologize. Comforting, yes, but no apologies needed. She didn't do anything wrong. Such a sweet girl.

Some people can't handle being Miss Universe but Miss Philippines can.

There is NO need for miss Philippines to apologize to miss Columbia! It wasn't her mistake. She deserves the title.

The way she said that 'it was a bad timing' i almost got in tears. Cos we all know that the other contestants said to her to step back. yet she didn't mention that. AND ESPECIALLY SHE DID NOT NEED TO APOLOGIZE BECAUSE THE CROWN WAS REALLY FOR HER! SHE DIDN'T STEAL THE CROWN PEOPLE!! HER WHOLE BEING SAYS IT ALL THAT IT BELONGS TO HER!

no need to apologize to colombia. she won via unanimous decision by the judges, topped among the 3 via online votes, and she gave the best answer during the top 3 q&a. she's classy and showed sportsmanship to feel sorry for colombia when it's not even necessary!

pia is a really confident beautiful woman with a heart. at some point in the video when the interviewer asked her if she has spoken to miss colombia already, she said that she tried to speak to miss colombia and said that maybe it wasn't the right time. she paused for a second there, and lied to the reporter. she did not tell her that while she tried to approach miss colombia, the girls who comforted her told miss philippines to step back even the woman (i think it was miss angola) in the red gown pushed pia back. my point is, she doesn't deserve all these hateful speeches so do miss colombia. but these ladies out there were being complete bitches while pia showed them grace and class and what should a real miss universe be able to do which they are too blind to see.

If you think about the context of "it was a bad timing to do now.", it could really mean that it was a bad timing because the latina queens were all around her and still consolidating her. you could say that it's really much better if Pia approaches Ariadna without the other women.

+cmdb xxi yes, Miss Universe Philippines Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach did not rat out the candidates who were mean to her but instead she took the higher ground and said it was bad timing... you do not want to be in the fire when it is burning hot, you want to let the heads cool down, then they see more reason.... this is why Miss Universe Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach is Miss Universe 2015... she is intelligent, with a lot of wisdom, great attitude in trying moments and exquisitely beautiful!!!

Actually Ms Philippines doesn't have to explain anything and say sorry to anyone, she's the most sweetest, charming and intelligent of them all, and she did nothing wrong. She is definitely the winner and the crowned Ms. Universe. They better ask the officials of ms universe pageant why it was wrongly announced.

+Kat Kealoha yes. misosology interviewes her and she said that it is not fair for miss colombia because she thinks that miss colombia deserved the crown. she even said that she and "the girls" didn't even "vote" for Pia. but later on she retrack what she said and she is happy that a half german win MU.
